I put the Knight Design 1" lowered pegs on today, after a friend with a metal grinder removed a 3/8 in. "triangle" from the rear corner of each, that would have hit the exhaust ccovers.

The peg R+R itself went without a hitch, 5 minutes each. The problem solving came when attempting to re-adjust the foot-to-control interfaces. An extra 10 minutes for the shifter, an extra hour for the brake. The brake readjustment was complicated by the way the control arm attaches to the master cylinder plunger. I could not turn the lock nut itself (to shorten / lengthen the throw), I had to turn the control arm pivot, because the locknut is embedded in that thing. That means removing and disassembling the entire rear brake assembly from the cycle frame. There's no bleeding required when finished, but be sure to double check the setup before tightening everything back down.

It's worth the effort tho, I can already feel the difference in ergo's, and like it.

BTW, Knight Design offers a "pointy, jagged" type of peg footing and I bought that. It's really going to take some getting used to it, and I think mebbe I would not do it again. The execution of the points is too tall / jagged. I think a "finer" granularity of the "jagged-ness" would be better, for me. Just my .02

I attempted to install the Brake Away throttle lock / cruise control today. I gave up after about 15 minutes...

A series of things prevented the installation from proceeding. I had a machinist prepare an 2.5 in. "arm extender" that he cut from a 6" metal brace bracket that I bought at Ace Hw. It looked perfect for the task, down to the "offset" holes drilled into the brace bar stock for screws. I was going to use it to mount the Brake Away to the Brake Handle pivot bolt / lock nut.

It would have worked, too, but then I got to looking more closely at the interfaces... The brake handle pivot bolt is a custom fastener. It also screws into the brake mount before exiting the bottom (to be exposed for **just enough** to get a lock nut onto the end of it). Sheesh, all the other cycles I've seen leave a bunch of thread / room on the pivot bolt. Not this one...

Then there's a "lip" that is machined into the brake handle mount, just behind the brake pivot bolt lock nut. I was going to use washers to make the "arm extender" rest against this lip. But, putting washers on the brake pivot bolt used up all the available remaining exposed thread. There was nothing left to mount the lock nut.

All this conspired against me in getting something to replace it with a longer fastener... No way was I gonna find that at Lowes...

There's another thread on this site where an Aussie gentleman mounted a Brake Away onto the right switch housing (using a hardware-store bought longer screw into the switch housing), and braced it with another bracket extending to the brake pivot bolt / lock nut. There's pictures, but I could not see that 2nd brace. I also now realise his modified cycle is not a 2012 ZX-14... The interfaces are not the same as what is in front of me.

So, bottomline for me is, I could not make this work. I could do the single mount point to the switch housing, but I'm frankly not sure that would be strong enough.

I wound up mounting the Brake Away to my V-Strom, where that went without a hitch...
