Has anyone run a set of "Michelin Power Pure" I'm thinking about getting a set. I love my Michelin Pilot Power trying to see if anyone has run both and what did you think? I need feedback.
Thanks

I've been investigating best tires for track days, and have been talking to the Michelin tire guy who is at track days at Miller Motorsports Park. He highly recommends the Power Pure. In fact, I've been considering getting an extra set of wheels and putting race tires on them for track day use. We talked about that, and then I asked him what he thought about the Power One Street, which is to the left (more towards racing) of the Power Pure on their chart, and got this reply:
"I would do the power pure over the power one street. We ran them with the Yamaha
Championship school for a while, and they just didn’t perform that well. The pure
Had better traction and wear."
So I'll be trying the Power Pure's on the next track day at Miller (9/6) and will report back.
I haven't run other Michelin tires -- have used BT-016's and Pirelli Angel ST. -bg

Bgordon,
Thank you for the info. it looks like I going to give it a go on the "Pures" Michelin tires have always been good to me and with each and every time I try a new brand of Michelin tires they turn out to be my next best set of tires.
Has anybody else run these?

Is there any change in pressure needed for the Pure as opposed to the 2CT's?
Apparently this is a lighter tire. I just put a set of these on but haven't scrubbed them in yet. I have been running the 2CT's for the past couple of years and really liked them so thought I'd give these a go.

I am currently running 36F , 37R . I am washing out the rear under power and with the Corsa-3 it was not so easy. I'm playing with air pressure currently to find the the best street combo. Let us now what pressure you guys pic as your fav. The Pavement starting to get cold here at nights so maybe next year we will have better info.

Bgordon & 9secondsflat,
I wish that's what I paid for mine. If the weather is nice I hope to go for a burn and break them in the right way. I was going to try the 190/55 in the rear but I was told to stay with the stock set up because it would be like going up a tooth in the rear and I don't want to mess with my gearing.

We'll be interested to hear how you like them. I'm probably not going fast enough around the tight corners yet to notice the difference between different tires. No slipping at all from any of them I've tried (Continental Road Attack, Pirelli Angel ST, BT-016). Did one track day at Miller on the Power Pure's. They felt fine, and were highly recommended by the trackside Michelin guy... -bg

I'm going to try the Pure's, the Dunlop Qualifier's that I have on now have never felt right to me. It seems way too easy to loose traction on acceleration at the rear, although, in the corners she holds well but seems to fall into them.
Also I've got about 3500 miles on these which is pretty amazing, but no burnouts or other hooliganism. I've always replaced tires as a set but my front is in such good shape that I'm probably going to just swap the rear for now. How do ya'll feel about mismatched tires?

Mismatched tires.....this can be as heated as an "oil thread" However in my experience I usually replace the back tire more often that the front. My advice is you don't have to change as a set, but you should stay with the same tire if at all possible. What I mean is if you only swap the rear it should be the same tire you have on the front. That being said there are some very knowledgeable and experienced riders/racers/mechanics on another forum for Honda that say it doesn't matter and have had no issues. I have mixed and matched on my old bike out of necessity, sometimes no issues other times it caused some undesirable handling characteristics. I would say if you don't like your Dunlops swap the set, you won't be able to properly compare otherwise. If you ever have to mismatch later I would say at least try to match the type and profile. For example I would never recommend mixing a sport touring with a supersport tire. I hope this helps.
