I live in Hagerstown, and ride mostly with a mc, the American Legion, and COG (Concours Owners Group).

When I ride for fun, the Appalachians are my playground.

I'm selling my ST3, 999S and XB12 (listed in Baltimore Craig's list) to get a green ZX-14R

Any chance you ride to Twigg's in Hagerstown anytime? I stop in there now and then, but would never try to get a trade in with them. And they don't have the green bike.

I'm looking forward to my next bike and it will be a big Ninja for sure, I miss the ZX10R I had in 2004.

I'm in Berkeley Springs, WV "where the riding begins"...LOL

I go to Twiggs all the time. I traded my ZX14 to them to get my 2012 Concours 14 ABS.

They got 2 of the green ones, each was pre-paid essentially.

I also miss my ZX10R but my injuries (military) have gotten too painful to do a good job on one. Anyone that has track day-ed a ZX10R knows what I mean.

I ride in WV a lot. COG has a couple rides down there this summer, and I have a 3-day I'm leading for my mc in late July which goes through there.

How are the prices at Twiggs? There's a place in Berkeley Springs, WV who gives rock bottom prices but he also has rock bottom people uncrating the bikes, which is not a problem unless there is one.....it's nice to save money but I really don't respect the "techs" he hires. Essentially they are ATV assemblers.

If I bought it there I would never go back for service, so it would be nice to give the business to the dealer you believe in from the get go.

The guy in WV has great prices, but then you have to take it to a dealer you didn't buy from, and you know that song and dance.

The only way to make it right with your real dealer is buy a maintenance contract with them (free money as far as they are concerned) and/or an extended warranty. Then they won't consider you an illegal alien.

The guy in WV pays minimum wage to laborers to uncrate and initial service. If it is more complicated than an ATV, or top heavy like a Concours 14, you better look REAL close at the bike you are going to buy because once its off their lot, problems are yours. I wouldn never ask that guy to service or fix my bike, and he won't offer to do it. He makes a ton selling bikes at prices that make Brock Twigg see red.

Prices at Twigg? Pretty much what they are anyplace else because they all have the same maintenance system on their computers, provided by Kawasaki, with all the same prices. If there are price differences between dealers and its not just different tax rates, thats the dealer changing the default shop rate or something.

I've never had them gouge me in 40+ years, even back when it was all HD on Cannon Avenue. As far as I know they do good work, never found something wrong or anything after they did a service.

And I always spend $1,000 bucks on a 3 year maintenance contract because I know it will pay for itself in the first year or year and a half at the latest. When you do that, the service manager thinks better of you than a customer who cries about the prices just because they really can't afford the bike to start with. So they pay a little more attention to your bike in a good way.

On the other hand, other valve adjustment on a Connie, there isn't a whole lot they can mess up.

If I had it to do over, as long as I have known Brock Twigg (since he was knee high to a grass hopper) I would still buy from the guy in WV and run right to Twigg and buy that maintenance contract and promise to always be faithful ever more and it would be all good.

Snap, I must have missed this posting. I live in Frederick. I frequent Twiggs Cycle as well. I work in WV so the ride to work is awesome.

ROFL I am waiting to hear from the VA about a job down in Salem VA which would rock.

Salem is like a suburb of Roanoake, just to the south. Fantastic roads all around, and right beside the BRP.

But federal jobs are tough to get, so I'm not planning on it unless they send me a written offer.

Not even all that far to move, just 3 hours down US 81 basically.

I'm also waiting for an interview with the Defense Logistics Agency at Ft. Belvoir VA for a data architect position which I applied for on USAjobs.gov and went Non-competitive Referred on it, which is a good thing, it means I can be hired without them having to interview anyone else. We'll see. That would be closer to Alexandria and Washington DC, but still a decent place. The fact I worked for Logistics Support Agency (LOGSA) at Redstone Arsenal is in my favor, they can even still "see" my security clearances from back then.

So I may not be actively living in Maryland too long. But my home will always be there.

OMG I just got an email from USAjobs.gov saying I was just referred to the hiring official for a job with the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Dahlgren VA.

I think life is trying to tell me to move South.......
