September Pa. ride
07/27/13 7:55 PM

on the 6th, 7th and 8th Home base The Royal Inn, Ridgway, Pa. www.royalinnpa.com Looking into group rates for rooms. Planning some 300+ miles loops in the Allegheny National Forest, possibly a jaunt to Lake Erie. Show up, meet along the way, or whatever, let me know. Leaving here on the 5th, it's 725 miles one way.

This sound like a great ride. Count me in Danno! I can meet you guys at the Royal Inn on the evening of the 6th. I'll get more details from you closer to the date.

How many are you riding with?

Got about a dozen unconfirmed potentials at this point, some of which will be there for sure. Had a date poll thread on another site and it just closed day before yesterday. If everyone who voted on a date can show, we'll have a nice group.
Here's a link you can follow to check details and additions;

Got this from The Royal Inn today, re; room rates:

Hello,
We have plenty of rooms available for those dates. We do not do "blocks" of rooms because we find it better for each guest to choose their own room type, and they are spread throughout the facility. Also, whomever reserves the "block" with their credit card would be held responsible for the charges, so for this reason, it is better to have each person choose their own room type and use their own credit card. If, however, one person is responsible for all of the charges, including any rooms booked but not used, we could certainly book all of the rooms at once.

Room rates depend upon the type of room chosen as well as the number of occupants. Some examples:
One double bed, one person - $59.05 + tax
Two double beds, two people - $68.25 + tax
One king size bed, two people - $74.25 + tax
All kings are non-smoking, but rooms with one double bed or two double beds have a choice of smoking or non-smoking.

If you would like to make reservations, please give us a call at (814) 773-3153 and have your credit card handy to secure the rooms.
Thank you,
The Royal Inn

I'm waiting to hear from a local guy who frequents another forum before I book a room, but as soon as I do, I'll be calling (or E-mailing) to reserve one. He totalled his ZX-14 a few months ago, but is all healed up and still riding his FJR.

I've got one 300+ mile loop lined out and a dude who is more familiar with the area is planning another. Should be fun!

Will probably hit the road around 8 a.m. each morning, and split into two or three groups, possibly taking different routes to keep it manageable.

Danno, on your route there's a little motel/diner on 6 in Galeton that makes a killer Philly Cheese Steak!

Have a look at 144/44 as well. Very scenic and fun, too. Bottom end of 44 was kinda rough last time out but still worth it.

Guys, please paste the link again. Google Maps screwed me up. the one that's there now is the actual intended route, with no I-80 bs.

Got a suggestion that instead of taking US 15 south, stop at Wellsboro for lunch and fuel, and then double back to Coudesport and catch 44 down to Jersey Shore. sounds good to me.

Sounds great! Looks like 44 carves right through a heavily wooded area just north of the mountains.

There's a few from ZXForums, also. It's always great to meet people face-to-face that you've chatted with from a distance.

Got three loops mapped out-244, 305 and 346 miles. The two extremes are to the East in the Allegheny National forest and the middle one snakes over to Lake Erie, up the shore to New York and then back down into PA.
