I am much quicker while under the gun.
What are the best RT tickets' when under the gun?
Thanks, Nasty, for the follow ups.

Darryle, I completely agree with what your saying! Honestly, MOST...If not ALL of the track riders I know (me included) really shave it back on the street. Compared to what we love to do most, the conditions are just too unpredictable! If we were to have the normal street conditions on the track, we'd be down at the finish line cafe raising hell with the track director!! Kinda what I was getting at was that, when you are used to riding on a track and riding your heart out, you go to the street and ride...sayyyy 80%. An average track rider riding 80% is normally (not ALWAYS) ahead of the standard street riders. Simply because they are used to...FASTER!
I think HUB hit the nail right on the head when he said it's a head thing not always just raw skill. I couldn't agree more! Also, I completely agree with you! Until about 3 years ago, my ENTIRE motorcycle riding life was on a track and I know a number of track riders still that don't ride on the street. It was quite an adjustment for me to get fairly comfortable riding on the street. I STILL worry that my lack of years riding on the street leaves me vulnerable to stuff I'm not used to looking for or expecting. I'm used to everyone going the same direction and having enough runout that the only thing you're gonna hit is another rider, the ground or those DAMNED tires! Which by the way SUCK!! LOL I think we are on the very same page just coming from a little different angle.

Mav, If I play the devil's advocate, I say, hey, it's not what you know it's who you know, and I've got this guy that can ride and is national level, here are his slips. Here is deep pockets and his last rider was a .500 and consistent like yourself. But years go by, bikes are harder to come out of the gate-wink-wink, only a few in the bleachers can ride one and now it's a .400 game or go home. OK, reacharoundime in the bucket, let me get into his head, I'll be right back.
Only way I see the head game is a full package. So every time at the line, yes it's a head game; yes it's you against the clock and not the other rider; yes it's more the RT beating the mirror. Where I'm looking for the .400 rider to beat the .460 rider, we have the same mailbox engine package sorta speak in that mirror finish.
I've got the bike, all I need is a 'seat.' How can a show a slip to a .400 rider [is the field], I need to show a slip of .300's if a sponsor is going to select you for the A-Grade. A is never ending, B is here are a few quarts. It's like Spies heading to every unknown track in europe and blowing the field away. The rest is history.
I think you can keep hitting the 8's and sort of hit a plateau I don't know? But to be consistent and nail some low numbers, your game has to start hitting .100's is a Spies kind of way. Heads will turn. They will come. If I put my head game to that number. Huuuummmmmmmmmmm, If I put that number etched in my aim for, Hummmmmmmmmmmmm, If I, cough-COUgh, Haaaaaccccckkkkkkkk, Huuuummmmmmmmmmmmmm.

I'm right there with you Hub. It's a layer of my game that needs some attention and I thank you for putting the pressure on me to improve it. My above average ETs are being eclipsed by just an average RT. From now on I will post my RT for Hub and ET for everyone else. As a side: I used to cut .420-450 lights on a little 08 CBR600RR with swing arm extensions. Explanation? It's much less of that HEAD GAME to pull the trigger on a longer bike with much less power. Hub challenges my HEAD GAME and I say GAME ON! I won't let you down old man.

And we both know it's a fine art leaving that tiny plasma moving at the speed of light to grounnnnnn, what did you say, old man? Did I hear that right? How many old farts ran down all those comers on Pinks? Were the majority of the winners in their golden years? You know, yellow 100% cotton briefs beer be gone?

Mailbox tune my ass. The trackside tuning and evolution of the tune that was the original subject of this thread, is a tune that we then apply localization data to for our customers. Maverick is runnin the Cblast flash for his machine, with an AFR that took literally hundreds of pulls to craft in the end. We have flow matched almost every exhaust set-up you can think of and made painstaking effort in what has been achieved. We tuned and finalized the update trackside with numbers real world data coalescing. The time effort and expertise that has been put into the ignition mapping and seeking the finest quality power achievable has paid off. Wouldn't you say so Mav?
Thank you Nels I can't say enough how much I appreciate all the hard work and teaching you have given me! Your mastery of the dyno is awesome bro! Riding Priscilla lately has made me appreciate all the more, the difference quality power makes at full lean! And the flat out scream to redline in fourth down that front straight is perfection.

Right on the money bro. I picked up 3 to 4 MPH on the big end and that means HANDS DOWN more HORSEPOWER! I haven't been to the track in 3 weeks and have only made a handful of passes on my CBLAST ECU. It's hot down in the south so we WILL see amazing ETs when the heat breaks. So stay tuned...

Mav, I'm goofing with you. Your .460 says enough. Enjoy the sport. You'll be briefing in your yellow tainted drawers soon enough. The thing is, you are going to look back and think, you know, I can clock those off right now at my old age, and here we are @ .0899 or roll it back up the trailer, tell me you are not getting faster each time out and you are not even close to the potential, you young whip her snap her (there). Aim for it. Challenge yourself or I told you so is the wisdom being olderemember.
Mailbox tune my ass.
When the shit is 'happening' every input is how can I make a joke out of this and I do not think about it she just pops in the head. I can't help it.
He's up his ass, no that's who was up his ass, I don't know, now he's going up his ass, no that was ass was up his ass now it's ass is turn.

I don't want any fireworks to start between y'all again. Funny thing is I know dang well if we all rode together the differences would evaporate. T-boss can ride, not just for the textbook purpose of line or apex. But straight ride. Passionate and fast. You are an excellent instructor T. So many young riders need to start at a place they understand and can translate. Your teaching is top shelf in my humble opinion.
And hub, man, you have been fast since these damn tires had tubes in em. Your points of smoothness and gut and heart speak to a racers ethic of fast. You identify with speed personally because you have lived it. I hear and see both. I respect both absolutely. I am a student everyday and I thank you both Hub and TrailBoss.

six, I would like to remind you that I did not interrupt the conversation going back and forth. Page back some. I more observed as I have since coming on the net: there seems to be this orifice and johnson dictating where things are placed and how far up, but see, I'm up over at the corner waiting for the barking in the trees to stop. I wanted to get back to rusty hinges, but noooooooooooo
And if you take thishit seriously, you better see a doctor you are not laughing at this like I did from the getgo.

Cblast slow down brother ..I checked the time and date on Both of Mavs runs and got the DA numbers .. It was less than 120 feet DA difference on the those two tests .. I used his time tickets ( date and time stamp ) and went and checked the DAs ... The bike went slower with only a 120 foot difference in DA that will not change ET or MPH very much if any .. If anything the bike ran a tad slower .. Testing has to be done same day , same bike , same rider .. Two ECUs in hand and make 4 runs and swap ECUs and make 4 more runs all while keeping an eye on the DA for any changes ..So in fact nothing has been proven at this point .. I rather stay out of this but when things are posted as fact and are not true I had to say something ..

2012 ZX14R Best ET 8.43 , Best MPH 164.95 ..Stock motor on pump gas ..Updated 8.42 @ 163.95
Just so there is a slight inkling of "ahead of the curve = JoeA?" It was a long time ago I called out, 'The Hand.' I present the evidence. In our little circle, this is the bar to beat, Mav. One reacharoundata time. So if I were to pick the print in a post, notice the two I can see in print is to page a pretty picture of what eyesea in that ocean of pulling lever and aiming straight or around a curve.
I'm just thinking out loud

I want you guys to know I'm not beating up on Cblast or Mav .. They both add a ton to this site and I love reading their posts, both seem like very likeable guys .. 42 year of drag racing I have learned a lot and love to pass it on just like Mav and cblast .. My thinking on this hole flash thing goes like this , nobody has yet to come up with a easy button to press to out run what Brock and Don has done .. It been two years and my numbers ( thanks to Brock and Don ) still stand ..One would think by now someone would have found the easy button ..Yet no one has even using MR12 fuel, Pro light weight jocks, ECU flashes and other tricks ..Bottom line is like Bill Cosby said " Proof is in the pudding "

"Hand,"
For me, You wore that name so long ago and I was 100% right as you are reading that in the 100 percentile. Bottom line is like what turtle said...
Signed,
NOLTT (when I say)
I know what a 'Seat' looks like and where to find them. And don't eat the out dated pudding. Ya didn't eat it when I was lapping it up, all fresh and yummy, but noooooooooooo

Mav,
I didn't know who's has what. The long arm is out of the gate, the rest is top end. It may be saying that's all you are going to get out of it, swap flashes and find out. 8.4 and 160 is a far distance from 8.9 and 150. It's not the seat, it's what's under the seat.
We on the same page?
