Thanks Snuffy. I see you have HIDs for your hi beams. So you have two sets of ballasts, a set for lows and a set for highs. What type "bulb" are you using for the hi beams? Are the highs a different K temperature than the lows?

Rook, good to hear from you. Thanks for sending out a search and rescue team. All must be well, I see you picked up a Busa too!!! Do you still have a drivers license?

I've gone through 3 new '07 14s from '07-'09. 1. Frame cracked in '07. Insurance got me another new one. 2. Engine valve went bad in '08. Dealer rebuilt engine under warranty. 3. 3,000 miles later engine threw a rod in '09. Had bike towed to my garage. Put battery on trickle charger and covered bike where it remains to this day.

Since I went through 3 bikes in 3 years I decided to reflect on my past to see what could I have possibly done to deserve this. Almost two years later and I still haven't come up with anything. Go figure.

I think I'll get it ready for spring.

I tossed a piston right through the case last July so I feel your pain, Realy sucks! Luckily with some advice from Hub and a bunch of the other fellas on the forum, I had the bike dropped off at a dealer and at first they acted like it was the first time they ever heard of that. A bunch of the fellas told me that I was not the only victim of this problem and I found 5 other cases on the net and told the dealer I had print outs....2 days later they approved the engine re-build.
As far as the HID's U are correct 2 sets of ballasts and I have both sets in 6000K temp...I purchased them at DDM Tuning.

I purposely didn't extend the warranty when they rebuilt the engine. I figured if they didn't get it right the first time no need to go through it again. I didn't even want to sell it to someone else. Just all an necessary head ache and hassle.

Back to the hi beams. Because the lows and highs are the same, can you tell much of a difference when the highs are on? Do they shine like highs?

What's with these engines???

I found a used engine that I'm going to rebuild. Let me rephrase that. I'm going to get it rebuilt! I think I'm going to get a new crank and make sure it's balanced before I put it in with new rods, pistons, springs and retainers, and bearings, just to be sure.
