The ones off ebay should be dark enough, I have them fitted all round on my Black 2013 SE, but be aware, the tail light I had sent to me was a bitch to fit, not so much the panels to remove (that's a given) but the shape of the unit where it sits against the tail section of the bodywork...I had a fair bit of re-shaping to do! (Sunnymew was the seller)

Rear tail indicators are very straight forward....

Front though are obviously a fairing strip down, the replacements come with the bulbs and holders....but don't attempt to use them, the connectors on the light unit don't match with the OE, just change the lens units and ditch the bulb holders on the aftermarket one...

At the end of the day, it was worth the trouble!

Thanks Great tips and those lights look very nice. I'd be perfectly happy with that.

Reshaping? did you have to trim the triangle tail section down to fit?

It's actually the lens shape, so in other words, the angle of the lens where it butts up to the bodywork has a slightly different angle, so it touches the bodywork in one place, but leaves a slight gap at another place, approx 1mm+, nothing serious to be honest but you want the fit to be as good as you can get...

What I did was to literally file/sand back part of the profile on the lens unit (there's some overhang on the lens that allows you to do that) until the lens and the bodywork met without uneven gaps...job done, looks great!

That was the reason I mentioned the ebay seller Sunnymew, just in case it was a problem with a batch of units that he was selling?

The image below shows prior to alterations, and during the fitting process (you might have to adjust height alignment of the lens against the bodywork with a couple of packer washers on the tail section bodywork as well, but no big deal, just getting it perfect). Sounds more ballache than it actually is once you know what to do..

Great pic billy. Thanks very much. That's very helpful. I know what you're saying. Just a little grind down with some sandpaper isn't any big deal. If one was very picky, he could go down to 1500 grit paper and then polish it with 3M scratch and swirl remover. That would bring it right back to a perfect gloss. I see you have a Gen2. Mine is an 08 so maybe they have the bugs worked out on those. It will be a while before I purchase these. I think I'm going with Chinese ones.
