front wheel measurments
04/19/13 2:07 PM

I'm looking for the hub width or inside rotor width, axle diameter or bearing inside diameter, and the cross section width from rotor bolts (just one measurement from one bolt to either opposite bolt). If someone can post these measurement, it would be greatly appreciated.

I will be removing my front wheel this weekend. I will post the measurements. Might need some clarificaton on exactly what you want but no rush....the OEM wheels will be staying off the bike.

YOU're the M A N Rook, I was dreading moving stuff around and unpacking the wheels.

By the way... about freaking time! I'm expecting pictures of the wheels ON the bike and don't worry I pulled a couple of low wheelies and went over plenty of bumps and the wheels are doing fine.

That sounds good Rook. Hopefully this will help clarify what I'm looking for.

Got my tires on the new CZ rims, jacob. I will be removing the OEM front wheel within a day or two. I'll post measurements as soon as I get the wheel off.

distance between insides of front rotors: 132mm

distance between rotor bolts center to center: 95mm

inside diameter of of axle hole, OD of axle : 25mm

A steel rule was used to measure the distance between rotors. I set the wheel vertical and laid the ruler axially, resting it in the dips of the outer edge of the rotors. I took the measurement at a few different locations around the circumference of the rotor and all were 132mm.

I used a steel rule to measure the distance between rotor bolts. That required some eyeballing because the bearing seals stick up between the bolts and I had to lay the rule over that. I also tried my calipers but the jaws do not come to a sharp enough point so that both can touch the bottom of the hex in the bolt....close, though. The caliper estimate indicated 25mm, same as I was getting with the ruler.

The diameters of the axle and the axle hole measured with a calipers. The digital display on the calipers is not functioning because the battery is worn out. I had to read the analogue markings but that should be quite accurate to the mm. From the analogue scale, it looked to me as though the diameter was very close to exactly 25.00mm. If you need exact tenths or smaller decimals, I will need to find a battery (or buy a new calipers...very smart calipers manufacturer).

Are you trying to determine if a ZX-14 wheel will fit your bike?

Thanks a lot Rook. Yes, I'm gonna make adapters to make them fit. By the measurements that you gave me though, it looks like they are very very close. It may be easier that I expected.

Good. PM me if you need any more info. I was very careful about measuring but I would not count on those measurements to machine parts if you need .00mm accuracy....I do not have the proper tools to measure that close. I believe im within .33mm accuracy but that is as close as my eye balls can get without being to lay the ruler flat on the surface.
