Termignoni pipes fit
05/04/13 12:14 PM

Hi there from sunny Israel,
I just got my brand new zx14r and the first thing that must go is the massive ugly pipes.
I have two Termignoni of a Ducati 696 and I am thinking about fitting them to the green giant.
The physical fit is not the problem - I can make some CNC parts to adjust it nicely and I think that the engine's computer will make the necessary fuel adjustments automatically.
I wanted to get your opinion about it before I start working.
Thank's in advance,
Ofir.

"I think that the engine's computer will make the necessary fuel adjustments automatically"

If the engine's computer made adjustments automatically, there would be no need for Power Commanders and ECU remapping. It has a set map, loaded by Kawasaki, to match the stock exhaust. If you change the exhaust you should also get a power commander or bazzaz box or some other add-on to compensate or you will have issues.

After 3 seconds of full throttle, everything else on the road becomes 'Oncoming Traffic'...

In Israel, the dealer sells the Akrapovic without doing any engine mod.
I know that Akrapovic says that ECU remapping is required, but it is not a must.
Messing with power commander seems scares me more.

Hi, here in bomby syria.

Yes, Go for it. The computer is all about pre-fire. Post fire you can mess with the mufflers. Post fire is all about grunt and top end. So if you lose the grunt, you have top end. If you have more grunt, you are clogging the bike up even more than stock.

I have to go... Incoming!!
