I installed Murph's lower pegs ( 1.5") to go along with the Heli-Bar risers ( 3/4") installed earlier.
One thing I didn't like about the footpegs was the polished aluminum finish so I sprayed them with a few coats of
matt black Plasti Dip... which is actually synthetic rubber.

Minus the footpeg feeler, they sit about as low to the ground as the OEM pegs.

I also installed Shogun frame and axle sliders. The rear spools were added earlier.

The Frame sliders have CF sleeves and aluminum end plates ... Excellent fit and finish !

Thanks .... Time will tell One nice thing about plasti dip is that if
you don't like it, just peel it off. I'm considering using it to make tank grips.

I've had Murph's pegs on my 2012 C14 since the first month it was home with me.

But it never occurred to me to plasti-coat them. Going to give it a try.

I rode 125 miles yesterday and there's a little wear along the leading edge
of the left peg. I reckon they'll require a quick touch up every so often. Tom

Yesterday's ride ... Homebuilt Panniers / Top Rack passed the stress test !

One piece pannier racks and top rack attach at the grab handle and passenger pegs.

I don't notice it when shifting, unlike the MFW adjustable / lower pegs on the Sprint. With the Murph's, I noticed
the brake requires a bit of "pigeon toe", but since I rarely use the rear brake, it's of no consequence. Tom

On the C14, Murph included instructions to shorten the actuator rod that pushes the piston in the master cylinder. This worked very well and allowed me to lower the brake pedal enough to mirror OEM just closer to the ground.

You really should learn to use your rear brake, by the way. Take the MSF Experienced Rider class, they will teach you how and why.

Hint: the very best roadracers in the world heat their rear caliper and rotor disk up pretty good during a race. Do you know why?

Yes. To settle the rear suspension going into a corner. It's also used to make the rear step out by those who "rear-steer"

Here's my plasti-dip knee pads ( 6 spray coats of matt clear). Hard to see, but that's the idea. To try a different color, peel them off and spray again. Blue plasti-dip rims or wheels may be next.

Here's a couple pics in today's 34f temps. The nearly invisible clear plasti-dip tank grips worked fine, and are easily worth the $1.00 or so they cost !

Here's another accessory I've been using for nearly 25 years... Handlebar muffs. They also work great in the rain.

... Had the Sprint out today also. The handlebar muffs work so well that I didn't need to use the heated grips.

The handlebar muffs in the ZX14R pics above are my 20 year old / lightweight pair. I bought them from JC Whitney.
It's unlikely they are still available. They fit the ZX14 ok, but not as well as my newer "Quad Gear Classic"
mitts. These are easier to attach onto the ZX14 handlebars with velcro straps and are warmer than the JC Whitney pair.
At $15.00, they're a steal.

Hardlebar muffs allow you to wear thin summer gloves year round and also work great in the rain.
