I am not sure about other states, but California, certainly SF Bay Area, is becoming pretty bad place to ride motorcycles. Too many careless cagers with totally different back ground - many have never driven cars before coming to US or some came from countries where the traffic rules/laws are totally different from here. And there are many addicted to smart phones. They can't take their hands off. They have to keep texting or calling no matter what they are doing. I was almost wiped by an Indian lady in Tesla on Wed. Be safe out there, brothers!!

Through in the crappy road surface and pot holes and its even worse. Its seems like every woman driver is always on their phone and the driving is secondary to texting or wtf she is doing on the iPhone.

I find I only ride on weekends for fun because the commute days are just plain dangerous.

I agree 100%. In the SF Bay Area drivers are HORRIBLE. They drive slow in the fast lane, thy drive fast in the slow lane, they dive bomb in merges, they cut you off constantly, they text, eat, read books everything but DRIVE THEIR CAR!!! Every time, and I mean EVERY time I commute by bike I have at least 1 car try to move into me without looking at all. I guess the old saying applies..." Everywhere you go, assholes."

That is true and the tempers are getting shorter. When riding, I get furious at cagers not being able to take a right turn on a red light, so I swerve around them and proceed to show them how it is done. And 90% of the time my assumption who is behind the wheel is correct.
