Muffler baffle and power
10/23/16 5:32 AM

I recently took off a two brothers slip on with a 2 & a half inch internal baffle. The muffler body measures 10 inches. I put on a delkevic 14 inch slip-on Muffler it appears that the internal baffle is 2 inches maybe just a pinch bigger. The DB killer is out of both pipes. Yes the bike was Dyno Tuned with the two brothers two and a half inch internal baffle.
I Rode with be quieter slightly longer 14 inch Muffler body delkevic Muffler. I don't know if it's just not that gnarly biting sound that the two brothers has or the dellkevic is more restrictive. Seems like the power was down. Nice to have it a little quieter for a longer ride not drowning in my helmet. But I may have to put that two brothers on it's got such a gnarly sound. Well the long and short of it is I don't know if it's the sound that makes it feel more powerful or the baffle that takes away the power any baffle size experience from any one would be really helpful. I doubt I'll be taking a trip to the dyno well at least not till after I have the ignition flashed over the winter when I can't ride. Brogs

I have Only owned full systems on both of my bikes. The biggest reason- I was told a slip on will not add more than 8 hp (the manufacturer claims), probably more like only 2 or 3. I don't think anyone could notice +2 hp on a 14. My guess is that it's the sound. If I were you, I'd go with the louder one if it is more exciting.

Looking at the second dyno chart down, you see a gain of ~2 hp with a 2bros slipon. the tsukigi full system adds about 8 hp. Tell the truth, I don't think any exhaust makes a huge difference in power over stock. Worthwhile if you're racing or just like the stuff but not really something that will make you faster than the next bike unless you are going all out.

but it DOES drop weight and that IS noticeable especially at low speed...and that's the #2 reason I went with a full system.

The head pipe is a hindle 4-2-1 ultra light stainless.
I think ur right the louder muffler is the ticket. Little pun.
Ya thw loud gnarly pipe is probably what ill put back on.
thanks Brogs
