QUESTION:

Are the full muffler sytems on a ZX-12/ZX-14 interchangeable? Can I put a muffler system from a ZX-12 on a ZX-14?

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say no they are different. As far as Headers that is though.

Headers are different, and that includes the collector outlet diameters. Not sure but I think the spacing of the spigots (that go into the exhaust ports) might be different. Maybe not.

I was on some website recently, and saw some pics of taking the mufflers and pipes (not header or collector) from a ZX14 and necking the pipes down to fit in the ZX12 collector. Darn if I could find it again now.

I should be like Hub, he finds something on youtube, he posts it, even if he just posted something else 10 seconds ago in the same thread.

Here is how you narrow it down:

All Mufflers Interchange with each other.
Non-Cat-Headers ~ are the little guys with the small diameter/fat gaskets = Makesense?
Cat-Did-Headers ~ did they blown up a touch of the collector, plus, an ever so slight mm bulge at the headers. Find out the honeycomb with bulge will flow almost the same as it is compensated for.
