I tried all those racer-replica helmets over the years. I still have new (but very old) Koscinski and Rainey helmets, and through the years have pretty much tried them all, including the Vemar.

This blows them all away for silence inside the helmet, comfort and fit, crash protection, minimum weight, anti-fog, ventilation, and built-in Scala with FM and external (iPod, XM, whatever).......

I've been reading a good review for Schuberth modular, privateer. Good choice. I'm leaning towards Bell Revolver EVO or HJC Symax III for modular. But now I'm thinking to get Velmar Eclipse...hmmm decision decision....

I am leaning towards selling (if I can) my HBC or whatever it is, and get one of the more futuristic designs, like the Icon.

THe Icon variant is apparently a street bike helmet, but I imagine some would think it more of a motocross, enduro look.

OSBE makes some pretty wild designs.

Although that one is a bit too out there, even for me.

I really like the Torc Prodigy. I am down to either that, or the Icon Airframe, or whatever they call it.

Anyone with any suggestions on a furturistic/streetfighter styled helmet?

Went with the Bell Revolver modular in flat black. Also sprang for the smoked visor. $239.99 total.

Love the futuristic look of it. Plan to add some green accents to make it match the bike.

SHould get here any day now.

Anyone else have a modular? And do you like it?

The Revolver EVO is apparently an updated and improved version of the first version of the Revolver. Reduced noise, improved visor drop-down shield, and added chin curtain. With the bezels around the ports taken off and painted green and glossed, it should match the bike pretty well with the rest of the helmet remaining matte black. Might even paint the entire upper lifting facial cover section green and gloss that, too.

Just got the Bell Revolver EVO in the mail today. Love it. Looks great, fits well, and I really am gonna get alot of use out of the modular flip up front. I also got the dark smoke visor coming too.

Bell has come a long way in recent years. They make some really nice lids where before they were only an economy choice.

ZX14MAN64,

How are you liking the Revolver EVO? Any road time with it yet? I have the BMW helmet like that not really happy with it. I really only do ARAI but I think I may try it would like to know your thoughts, I'm looking for a road review.

NOt gotten a chance to use it yet. I love the look and feel of it, but can't offer anything further. Not yet.

I am more of a $200 limit helmet kinda guy. I imagine the higher priced helmets are great, but I don't see spending that on a helmet when the $200 fit fine, work well, and look great.

But to each his own.

I'll give my two cents on the Revolver EVO when I get a chance to use it a bit.

ZX14MAN64,

Understood!

But when you do I would like to hear your thoughts on the helmet.

Thanks again

Will do.

What would some of the exact OEM flames from the ZX14R face/front fairing look like on the helmet?

I trust you guys' impeccable taste in style and what is cool and what is gaudy.

Got the Revolver EVO and had a chance to try it out. I loved the flip up front feature of a modular and the helment fit great, although it was a bit tight, as other reviews have said it'd be.

But the drawback was that the shield fogged up on me right away. The outside temp was about 55 degrees, but I am not sure temperature would have anything to do with that or not. The much cheaper HJC I currently have has never fogged at all.

Anyway, I have already boxed the Bell Revolver up and sent it back.

Still on the hunt........LOL

Just replaced my RX7 with a Schuberth C3 Pro. Very comfortable, very quiet, the ventilation works well and all the versatility of a flip helmet. Went for the plain gloss black (same as the RX7). Finished with the race rep lids years ago. They all look the same these days. I will NEVER buy another Arai. JMO

ZX14man64,

Wow! I'm sorry to hear that. Thanks for the up date I would say try the BMW helmet but then again that would be way above your pay mark but maybe you could find one used.

Thanks again
