Im wondering if anyone has ever gutted there stock header on 2008 model and had good results. Just thinking the bike would breath better and run cooler. And if you would have to remap your bike.

The bike will flow the same with the cat-less as with the cat. There are two diameters that compensate for the slowing down of the cat? Well, no, because there was no HP loss to any year but a gain with cat installed in the header.
I'm sure you will feel a tiny improvement. But was it worth all that work if you are still stuck with the cats in the stock mufflers. You also lose that heat source to keep the air moving out of the chamber. The air slows down, you load up on the bottom end. You still pop. What did you accomplish?
Call me cat-less early header with a proportioned tube that is open without a cat installed. I could not feel any change between the cat or the early non-cat header.
