Just installed EBC rotors and pads
08/20/14 12:12 AM

Ok so my baby has 28k pkus and needed new brake pads. Yeah unbelievable stock ones lasted this long. So I figured time to upgrade. Got a great deal on some EBC rotors and pads.

How the look on bike. Sorry late nite phone pic

Aswome grab. Had to stiffen up front suspension cause they grab so hard.

Looks GOOD! It's a finer point in the appearance dept but aftermarket rotors sure look nicer than the stockers.

Yes. Only did the front. As ive got a lil over 27k on stock front brakes and pads. Rears still have over 50 % of pad life left. They grip a lot harder with initial bite as compared to stockers. Had to stiffen up front suspension a little bit to of set dive when braking hard.

Looks great. That was the one I was going to go with if I went with a rotary.

You aren't going to feel anything with it on. The 14 is already so stable, there aren't that many incidences that happen in the average week of riding. I found the best way to test a steering damper is to ride with it for a long time and then take it off. You'll notice that old twinge happen again when you ride hard.

Sure. The brakes are great. Lines, pads and rotors and even calipers are a nice upgrade but I think it is the stock master cylinder that gives the power to the ZX-14 front brakes. I wouldn't want it any other way. I'm used to it. I don't want to be searching for the right amount of brake. I want it there as soon as I touch the lever. Same preference for car brakes.

I have the Scott's on my zx10 street/track bike. It's great for those unexpected wheelies over blind corners with and sharp transitions from left to right. But I also commute 100 miles round trip to work. Have to split lanes alot and the road has a lot of pot holes , bumps , and not to mention riding over those reflective markers in the lanes by the lane deviders. Can get sctechy at times. Most of the time there's only inches between me and cars/trucks. Not all people see you or give you room. Added safety for that unexpected wiggle. :)

Hi guys, I want to buy new front rotors to replace my stockers and eliminate the pulsation of the front brakes. Kawasaki upgraded the material of the stock rotors so this could be an option. Those EBCs look pretty trick. Are these better than stock?
Thanks

Blue14 what year is your bike? If it has abs the pulsing you feel I would assume is normal as the abs system is working the brakes for you. I have a 2012 and never felt any pulsing with the stock rotors and pads. I had of 27k on my bike before I changed rotors and pads out.
The ebc rotors grip harder with less braking pressure from the lever. The stockers have a more progressive braking feel. You grab the lever they dont bite to hard and them grip like now. The ebc rotors grip like now. Took a little getting used too..aslo had to stiffen up front suspension to combat dive of front end under braking.
Cost of ebc rotors are about the same as galfers. More color options available than galfers. I have a friend that drag races and recently opened his own shop. He's sponsored by ebc so I got a good deal..but your Looking at about 550 retail for the set. Unfortunately I only got a lil over 600 miles on bike before my accident. Mostly commute miles so did not get to test on some of my favorite back roads...

Mine is a 2008. My dealer told me that there was a problem with the composite of the stock rotors that caused the pulsation. In fact, they would have been replaced under warrantee. That was then and now is now. Price for new factory rotors:$600. Just looking at all of my options. I would like to do this right. I like the bike alot. Thanks

The ebc and galfers are about the same price as the stockers. Depending on where you get them about 600 dallors
