RE: Real dyno results inside.

Thursday was a great day. We had the opportunity to put the new 2012 Zx-14 on the Dyno and do some testing of the oil that we use for Lucas.
Stock out of the crate, the bike gave a great performance! To set the scene, we are at 212ft of Alt, density was 2019, baro 29.82, and the humidity was at 41%, 75 degrees out. Since the ZX-14 we tested had about 52 miles on it, when we made the first pull, we decided to take it out and put a few highway miles on it, and brought it back with about 120. We had the bike filled with 91 octane pump gas since most street riders would use this.
The 1st pull was 182 hp, at 108 ft lbs of torque. The next 3 were at 187, which was really impressive. Then we did an all gear pull. The bike went to 190hp with 111 ft lbs of torque. This was done on a dynojet model 200 dyno. Our tuner did a great job setting it up and we know that dynos are different and get different readings. Needless to say, we can't wait to really get a hold of one of these and do what we do!! This motorcycle is Awesome!!

Kawasaki .ca 16999.add tax PDI,freight .I'll talk to Kahuna this week.called a Buffalo dealer was told can't sell cross border.Mind you cities close to the border have more restrictions. US postal box and cash should overcome that obstacle

Even prior to 9/11, when I shipped my ZX11 to Europe, I had to fill out several long documents stating I was bringing it back.
Its one thing to wander south across the very open border to buy something that fits in your trunk, and then lie about it when you cross the border to go home.
Its something entirely different to try to buy a U.S. motorcycle and try to take it back across the border into Canada.
darryle, its not that cities close to the border have more restrictions, implying cites far from the border (on the US side) don't have those restrictions. Those cites far from Canada just don't have to think much about someone wanting to buy a bike and take it to Canada very often. They have the same federal and State laws (due to trade agreements and interstate compacts) as the town sitting right on the border.
I don't think you'll have much luck these days, and keep in mind trying to avoid import/export duties is a felony in the USA and Canada both.

Don't mean to hijack...
Privateer, what department/office did you have to contact, how much it cost (back then) and how long did it take for the zx 11 to ship
BTW... even if it was a zx 16 I wouldn't pay 19000 this is highway robbery!!!!

PRIV,contact dealer, pay for bike in advance, title and bill of sale must be faxed to US customs 72 hrs in advance, must cross border on week day 9-5,(QUEENSTON).Clear US customs.Pay HST at Canadian customs, pay 220 RIV fee, have bike inspected at authorized centre(CTC).After gas, food and motel my savings are over 3000.I have searched this very thoroughly and unless I can get a dealer in Ontario to come with in a 1000 on price I'm going to America

I am looking stateside as well. I will give the local guys the chance to get close but otherwise I am making the trip. I got room for one more zx14r on the trailer if anybody is interested.
I would also be interested in approaching Kahuna, snow city, two wheel or others as a small group to buy 3 or 4 at once. That may get us closer to the US OTD price.

Lol, that track's going to put a big hole in your pocket. I may have to file for divorce when they open circuit of the americas. I may get a cheap track bike next year and a 14R a couple years from now

Quote from Ricky's Facebook page:
"In 2006 when the 14 first came out I went 9.77 143 on a ZX14 with it slammed on the ground here in Vegas(slow track)....TODAY on the 14R I went 9.31 149.75......can u say UN....BELIEVABLE!!! Wait til I run it at a fast track on the east coast!"
"Ladies and Gents.....the new 14R just set the production stock Vegas track record!! Last years 14 would run 9.65 143mph best here in Vegas, lowered with a pipe. The 2012 just went ........9.31 149.75 here at this slow track(compared to east coast tracks) with my 170 pound self(with gear on). That is ......UNBELIEVABLE......great job Kawi!!!! Numbers DON'T lie!—"
Lots of pics there as well.

Nice but I would like to compare that to the #s of a streched Beemer... looks like the beemer could still walk away!

9.31! A bone stock BMW won't got that fast... This is 9.31, NOT track prepped, supposedly at a "slow" track also... stretch for stretch - hmmm... BMW don't go that fast stock in most tests that I've seen. I don't think it's a stretch to say BMW maybe dethroned as king of the drags...

Here is Ricky running a 9.34 on what appears as a stock bike immediately after his 9.31
Hope the link works if not just cut and paste it

Trust me! I wanna believe you BigW but that beemer wasn't ridden by RG! the 14R has about 10 hp on the beemer but the weight difference...? If the beemer was stretched so it doesn't wheelie outta control I think it would be really close... That is if RG doesn't pretend to try like he did on the busa.

I was wondering about the clunk too but I like the fact that it is typical to kaw, if it's not broken why fix it. When are you getting yours blue? We are going to need you to run some tests...
