Hub, got a PC question
01/29/10 3:39 AM

Was talking to my Garage guy, he mailed me something - And for me its hard to understand lol, and i'd like ur opinions.

So i mailed him about a PC, and this way his answer

The problem is with the PC, u lock ur Injection instead of the std ecu that changes the Injection. I wouldn't bother with a PC for now (I think rapid Bike iseen is a better option) - And i would get rid of the limitations with a G=Packoid.

Thx

I'd want a simple conclusion

That's how they get you at the shop. Explain until the customer shakes their head and says "okay, go ahead and do it."

I'd check around the Netherlands and see what other riders are using. If PCs are not used there for some reason, they ought to be able to tell you why. Check if shops that tune by you use a Dynojet dynomometer like most of the tuners in the US. If they have a DJ dynomometer, they probably tune PCs. Those tuners would be able to tell you what tuning module to get. We have a Euro section on this forum. You could try posting about this there too.

THAT's why you get yer shop manual and READ it and work on yer bike when ya need to....so they're NOT talkin smack when they're tellin ya about your bike's needs!(Well, okay, maybe not doing ALL the work on yer bike, but at least you'll have a better understanding of what may be involved in them working on your bike).

Well, most riders here go for the power commander III USB right? And i never see anyone complaining about it, so why look any further =p

^^Exactly. PC3 or PC5, make sure it is the race model. They make a racing model and a "normal" model.

Make sure you don't get busted for violating local laws. That's why it may be a good idea to find out what tuning module is most common in the Netherlands. All tuning modules are illegal here, i believe. Maybe they are more likely to check in the Netherlands.

Find out which map you are going to run and make sure it is compatible with the PC you get. PCV maps are not the same as PCIII maps. I imagine most tuners have maps for both PCV and PCIII. Ivan is a popular map choice for some setups and I think he only has PCIII maps. Yoshi and Akro probably have maps for PCV or PCIII.
