Limiter removal?

What's the cheapest way to remove the limiter? Speedohealer still doesn't have a unit for the 14R...don't feel like paying $400+ for an ECU reflash.

Go with Don Ghul and re flash. You will love it not to mention he can adjust the flies if you still have them in. He did mine after I had another guy F mine up. The guy told me he made all the changes and raised my redline... And then when I called him out telling him it didn't go to what he said it would he then said it was my tec and then my dyno guy! The lying bastard!

The GenI can have the limiter disabled by grinding two of the 4 opposite corners on the countershaft sprocket nut. Apparently, that is what the speed sensor reads off of. I guess you will have 50% speedo reading. Grind all 4 corners and you have 0 speedo.

Half-0 speedo, limiter never will come into play.

Have never tried this mod myself. A new countershaft sprocket nut is cheap.

Haha, I guess the flash is the best way then...might take some time to procure the funds, tough Christmas with hi-cap mags skyrocketing ;-)

$150 will get you the Bonneville Pro which de-limits the bike while giving you an accurate speedo reading. got 1 on mine and love it

There are so many benefits to a Guhl re-flash that removing the speed limiter and bumping up the rev limiter are just minor improvements.

You get the equivalent of flys out without neutering traction control, better ignition table, and you can dump your piggy because he will flash your A/F table too.

Especially if you can take it to him in PA, and get it dynoed. He does 5 pulls, and from that he knows exactly what the A/F and Ignition tables should look like for your setup.

If I was doing my ZX14 over, I'd drop ship the exhaust to Guhl, ride it to him, put the exhaust on, do the pulls, and ride home with a purring machine making a bunch more horsepower.

"06-11 ZX-14 Bonneville PRO

Will not work on 2012 ZX-14R"

Damn, still waiting...

Guhl reflash would be best, I agree, but riding from Alamogordo, NM, to PA...not going to happen. If I ever were to get stationed up there or get out and get a job in the NE then maybe. Rather take the whole bike in and get it all done then piecemeal.
