So, after calling all my lazy bum friends and having them all be busy with silly, non essential "Family Stuff", I decided I'd just take off on my own for a short Coffee Ride. My target this morning is " The Bean" coffee shop in Cottonwood CA, about 30 miles away.
Got "KNGKAWI" fired up and set off up Black Butte Rd. Sky was clear and temperature about perfect.
Since I was alone I found myself romping along at a pretty good pace. Just watching for deer kept me alert.
Turned down Wildcat Rd,and stepped it up again. Oh how I wish they'd repave this road. They have laid down a 4 foot wide strip of nice smooth asphalt along the edge so keeping your lines precise helps minimize the bumps. Off the strip and you should probably be on an enduro.
Crossed the Sacramento River at the Balls Ferry Bridge and onto Cottonwood. Pulled into The Bean and my friend Matthew pulls up on his new GSXR1000. He didn't have time to ride so we made a plan for next weekend. Had a nice chat and headed home. Matthew joined me back to the bridge.
All in all, between the caffeine and the adrenaline, I was wide awake when I got back home.
