Good: Givi, prices, shipping, most technical support

BAD: Denali D2 LED lights and tech support.

Why? I have to cut the controller out again tonight, and send it back on my own dime, and that means I will be on my third controller harness and the current one went bad in just 1 (!) month.

My suggestion, don't buy Denali D2 LED lights from anyone.

I am now on install 3 of the Denali D2 harness with controller. This one so far is solid, and I'm hoping I finally got a good harness and this is the end of "return wars".

Hey Privateer,

It can be frustrating when you purchase a product and it is problematic. At $359 you think they could afford to build in quality and reliability. I guess the option to send it back and get a refund is past? If it is, why not toss their controller in the bin and make your own. If the LED modules are rated for 12VDC and do not use an actual LED driver circuit why not just install a relay to make and break power from the battery to the LED's, with the relay's operating coil controlled from your high beam lead. This would activate the LED's only when you have your High Beam on. (as I imagine you are using them to illuminate and fill the immediate foreground area when driving with your high's on).

I could do that, but at the time it was a matter of principle.

Now that they finally sent me a good harness, it has been rock solid. So I'm leaving it alone. :)

For anyone considering the Denalli D2 lights for the 2012 14r, they won't work. You need to buy the fork mounting kit, another $45, and even with the extension it's not long enough to put the lights past the wings on the fairing. I had the D2's on my last bike and they are very worth the expense. Unfortunately twisted throttle hasn't made a good mounting system for the 2012 14r.

Don't hold your breath for a fender mount for the ZX14R. Not enough will be sold in 2012/2013 to justify making something special for them. Though they might....

Twisted Throttle has one for the ZX14 because they made them for the Concours 14. A great many have been put on the C14.
