Tires

Now using the BT003's,front and back.If anyone is looking for a sweet gripping and smooth running tire set...these are the ones. Thanks Rook for the heads up on your "track day madness" deal!I don't think I'll be switching brands any time soon. These babies GRAB,and HOLD,and ROCK.First time I've ever seen a tire(s) break-in and begin the chemical process of getting better and better. You can actually see the chemicals in the rubber doing their thing. And the heat up and "melting" of the tread is just awesome.Very excellent road carving tires.

I'd flat spot them with a month. Even though I'd wear them right out to the sidewall within the first week.

You know...I buy my tires from MotorcycleSuperstore...excellent prices and 2 to 3 day shipping free.Never had any problem with them.Plus ya get a '10% off' coupon normally to be used on the next purchase...so it's pretty cool alright. You could get like the front for about 110,something like that...and use the coupon for the next rear...cost ya right at $159 free shipping. For the Bridgestones .(prices).My first BT003 rear lasted me about 2,300 miles...could have gone further by at least 500.They are not made to last like the Hi mileage tires...the Pilots and Pirellis...but talk about grip cornering.Geez...these tires grab like nothing else I've used.On this last one,I was actually able to grind the outer profile down to kinda match the center wear. That's saying a lot for a street tire and cornering.Course,we have a fair share of open straights.Cruising at like 60 on those to get from the curves to the curves definitely helped the center last.Gonna see how this next one does riding like that...maybe even a bit more reserved on straights and shifting and all.Powering up and down can grind my tires as well,so I'm holding back on doing a lot of aggressive shifting this tire just to see what kind of difference it's gonna make.Using the clutch a lot more this go around.Staying at 60 or so on the flats.

Austin's probably pretty hot...you might want a 'mileage' tire for your temps,IDK.I know these heat up and get VERY STICKY(=wear faster)...and right now it's around 85 degrees.I think when the cooler temps kick in again,I'm gonna see a better mileage from these. We'll see.

yeah it's gna be in the high 90 s and low 100s!!!! I love the rosso corsa which I have in front, but then again I was equally pleased when I swaped the back for the metzeler. The stock tires are horrible and that's coming from a guy with about 1 year and a half of riding experience so you know they suck big time. Maybe I should "stick" to pirelli for regular riding and purchase the BT003 for a track day or something. What I like about pirelli is the way the bike transition from left to right or vice versa. It's really smooth. How's the feeling like on the BTs

yeah they fast and got decent prices!!! man I wish I could run out of stuff to buy!

Well...these BT's allow a very quick transition.Equal easily with the Pirellis.I think the 'transitions' now with mine are coming faster, because the tires feel more planted and I'm able to carry more speed into the turn and out as well.I know what ya mean about the Pirellis.Very neutral feeling,I thought so anyway.

It's hard to really tell sometimes if a certain tire is 'doing' a certain thing. You know...like falling in,or running wide or sketchy in the turns.Lots of factors going on that can hide what a good tire is really doing. The faster I go...and I don't mean light speed...but,yeah,above the legal limit....the better the bike holds a turn and runs a nice line.Getting the right saddle position makes a big difference for me as well while turning. The bank of the curve,or lack of it...that can make ya have to change things pronto.Havin a curve tighten up on ya will definitely change yer battle plan.So it's really difficult to do 'tests' for tires on the street...but I do have a lot of really nice roads here...big fast sweepers, some smooth banked tight stuff also.I've got a few 'well run' roads I go on and test my suspension,tires...all that good stuff.I can repeat the riding conditions from one run to the next fairly easily.I'm STILL testing my bike!!! My 'test run roads' are like 50,60 mile one way trips. All kinds of great road conditions in there. And really minimal traffic for the most part.

Lucky you! NE roads suck no sweepers and poorly maintained and to make it even worst I think Lincoln has the most cops per capita. On the other hand I'm glad I need to develop skills first so if I lived where you are I'd probably totaled my body and my bike.
They're some decent twisties in Austin remote areas from what I could tell. I can smell my 1 piece suit in my closet. I can't wait. I may go down to Iowa this wkend and work on that chiken strip on the loess hills. I'll definitely give those BTs a shot it's not the first time I hear good things about them.
