Dyno-Jet POD 300
02/05/15 6:59 AM

The New Last Tech From Dyno-Jet POD 300s arrived today. Can't wait to get into this.

If you look at the screen on LCD 200 you will notice glare. Impossible to see in the day time. Second pic shows clear and easy to read, night time only. Hopefully the new product lives up to what the info Dyno-Jet puts out

Hey Romans, I've been looking for an LCD unit for my bike to continue fine tuning my fuel map, the LCD-200 does throttle %, RPM and AFR on the same screen right?
I'm not sure how much to offer you so let me know what you'd like to see for it.

"Dyno-Jets supplied info is shit"

I went to the Minneapolis bike show last weekend and 2 Dyno Jet people were by their display. One of the guys I was with asked if I had any of the stuff and I said yes. PC5, autotune, Ignition Module and shifter. They overheard and said somthing to the effect of positive comments. I said I only have the PC5 and Autotune on it for now but want to install the other items this spring but would really like to get more training or good information myself then to let somebody else do it. The response was to get on the internet and watch video's or more to load a program on the computer and play with the numbers but don't accept. The other option was to go to Ohio and attend their seminar but that was more for tuners/dyno guys. The best bet was to tke it to a tuner north of me "Hitman" and let him tune it. Well thats about 300 bucks and I really wanted to learn it myself so I could help others and myself. I appreciated the info but really nothing was accomplished because I knew I could take it to "hitman" before. Time will tell. Display looks great though!

right. I'm so ashamed of myself for not using this cool toy yet. This summer, for sure.

LOL I think I may have to master the LCD-200 first. If I do that, I'm bound to learn what the POD is capable of and maybe I'd get one then. LOL I don't think "more complex" is what I need right from the start not to mention more money sunk into ANYTHING but paying bills right now. I agree though, a self tuning tutorial is about the most needed How-To we don't have on this site. I'm up for that even if it does end up being a short novel.

Yes and that's exactly how I run it. I make all my rows in PCV using the throttle percent #'s shown in the screen above. I used to tape off the throttle grip. Very primitive but was before LCD 200. Made for a shity map.

Have You ever read something you wrote the next day and wonder why you said what you did ???

I should not have said their info is shit. Lets face it they are great videos. Very helpful

What I should have said is their tuning advice could not be worse. " More you ride it the better it works" WTF, who talks like that ?

No wonder people say Auto tune does not work.

Fact is if you agree the 14R runs the fastest down the track at 13.8 AFR Auto-Tune will Make it for you.
Fact, if you agree the Gen one bike Runs the fastest down the Track AFR 13.1 Auto tune will make it for you. Learning how, well that's another matter altogether.

Last time I tried to teach how to use Auto Tune A member was in his garage redlining his bike in Neutral. Ahhhhh, I backed off after that.

We have to make this knowledge available to the world! God willing, we'll iron this out this summer. Maybe we will have a user friendly tutorial and a perfectionist tutorial.

No that's not how you do it. You redline it out on a public road in fifth. That might still get a few people in trouble. "USE THIS TUTORIAL AT YOUR OWN RISK--AUTHOR ASSUMES NO LIABILITY FOR PERSONAL OR LEGAL INJURY!"

Not on my previous post. I actually was going to delete the whole message because I thought what is the point other than to describe my interaction with the Dyno Jet Boys. So far the PC5 and Autotune seem to work, but I am not convinced that is was worth the money to buy or spend the time on the install. I prefer to get as much information from the manufacture on their products vs what I read on the internet. Both are useful and both can be BS. A hands on class by Dyno Jet would be nice with my own bike used in testing but that is not going to happen. Next choice is self study and if that does not work then to a tuner. This could be the bike that I should have left alone and just learned to ride better as is "stock".

Oh yes, the next best thing, a tutorial with pictures of my Gen1.

I don't see this being too difficult if you already know how to accept AT suggested fuel trims. 5th gear, WOT, watch the AFR gauge, hold it until you hit the rev limiter, cut throttle, stop and accept trims with a laptop. Do it again and see if the AFR is holding at 13.1. If not, it should have been improved. Accept trims a second time ...and so on. Repeat until you have a solid 13.1 at all rpm. Right or wrong?

When it comes to partial throttle, IDK yet. That's for the perfectionist tutorial.

Well in theory yes. Making it happen that way Not so Easy. we will get into this when thread starts. I will be more careful with my words. Still a little gun shy after what happened.

what happened? The guy in his garage trying to tune his bike by redlining in Neutral?

Oh, we'll have videos and text and photos and of course caveat AutoTunor. Let the tuner beware!

Let us know how it compares to the LCD. I'm light years away from understanding this stuff but good to keep informed about the latest improvements.
