rich67, what ErikR said, really. I was lucky enough to find one that the guy took off immediately after he bought his Concours so mine was unused. If you go this route, you need to find a C14 or Concours 14 seat because the other one won't work. Basically, all that's needed is replace the two brackets under the Connie with the ones from the stock seat and you're good to go. I paid $200 for mine. I can't say enough good things about this seat. Check http://forums.concours.org from time to time. Or, you can register at their site and sign up for the RSS feeds so you know when someone posts something for sale in that section.

The only thing I can add is that you might consider other things such as an Airhawk seat cushion, sheepskin, etc. Basically, the Airhawk is a rubber seat with air pockets. You can buy them in different shapes and sizes. You blow it up to the comfort level you want. It's best to experiment. They have hooks fore and aft to connect under the seat to keep it from moving, but mine still moves a bit. Also, you don't want to mess with this one if you're going to be going through a lot of corners because of how much extra movement created by the cushion. It's really meant for the cross country trips where it's mostly highway. You can always deflate it and stick it in a saddlebag if you want to hit the twisties.

The best combination I've found is make sure you wear some cycle shorts, like spandex, underneath, liberally apply some powder (I use Anti Monkey Butt) and then address the seat. There's lots and lots of discussions over at sport-touring.net regarding recommendations for long haul setups.

Monkey butt powder rules! as a dirt bike rider I use it often. Even better is motorcylce under. I have a pair made by Fox with padding on it that helps alot on dirt bikes.

Personally, I'm not fond of the smell of baby powder, so that's my first issue. Second, it seems like the monkey butt stuff just works better. It hangs out longer and seems to be a bit thicker.
