Guys, can I get all owners of gen1 and gen2 zx14's to post up your best 1/4 mile times, list your mods, preferable a little proof (like a pic of a slip) and I will list you all in rank in this post.

Let's see if we can get a decent list going.

Hey mate, we all know how quick the gen2 bikes are and now I bought a gen1 I want to know how well they go, how they respond to things and what they like.

I see mav has a thread already but it has no list, if you guys want to stick with his thread then I will close this.

The gen 1 is easily a bolt on 8 second bike as well. Just a couple of tenths difference between the new and old.
You don't have to close the thread but you'd get more hits by including both gens.
I'll post my best stock wheelbase pass just for the hell of it. I cheated because I have a gen 2.

Nice ET mav, can you list up your mods please? ie the essential ones, the amount of detail you go to is up to you. What about with extensions?

Alien Head 2 full system, lowered front and rear, air shifter, and CBLAST flashed with fueling. I have the Brock's clutch mod which is nothing more than a washer to lock out the slipper clutch and some heavy clutch springs with shims. The rest is all me.

Gen 2. lowered, strapped, -1 front (on my best pass), ti winder, guhl flash, quick turn throttle, Homemade clutch springs, 69 inch wheelbase.

I broke my bike at the track last weekend but at least I pulled off my best 1/8 mile et right before I did. Prop be awhile before I can get back out there chasing them 5.7s and 8.90s...

Oil pan decided to kiss the ground just before the tree. I recently installed the motion pro rev2 throttle kit and I was playing with the different cam profiles that came with the kit. I put in the largest, 50mm, cam which basically turned my throttle into an 1/8 turn...so she launched fuckn hard off the line into a wheelie...tried to dial back the throttle just a hair but it don't work with that 1/8 turn and she just slammed down dead in her tracks. Lmao needless to say I'm throwing that cam away, that way I'm not tempted to use try it again. Now I've got a 3 week wait on a tww billet pan...

Ah man your good to go. There's nothing to that repair. Go ahead and replace your pickup tube while your at it.

Hey Oz add the wheelbase to the best times. There's a big difference in 58.5" and 69" wheelbase.

No real humor there I guess, You're just real predictable Mav. Go to the search section on the forum and search the words stock wheelbase and see how many times your name pops up. Everyone knows you run a stock wheelbase. But hell, truth be known if I could run as good as you I'd probably be a little redundant too.

I reckon these could rum a solid 10 at half throttle, has anyone run slower than a 10 through reasons other than breakage (eg being a pussy)

At stock wheel base I was stuck at low 10s most of last year. Best pass on SWB was 9.82. Now I'm stretched 10" over, been out a couple times on it and have yet to match Mav's best on SWB...haha still learning and fine tuning the setup but I jump at least a tenth of a second everytime I go to the track. Moral of the story here is I guess you can call me a pussy lol
