I'm doing an internet search for a set of billet aluminum footpegs to replace the stock rubber coated monsters on my '06 ZX-14 and no luck. Anyone know of anyone who makes these? I don't want rearsets, just a replacement peg.

Looking for something more like what I have on my ZX-10R, gnarly aluminum for good grip against my boot. The rubber is too squishy when you press hard against it in a turn.
Has anyone tried peeling the top rubber off a stock 14 peg to see what's under there? Might be better than the rubber part and wouild give you a little more seat to peg distance for comfort.

There was a guy from zx14.com who was making an adjustable rearset bracket that adapted to the stock pegs. BAsically just an aluminum plate with some holes you swap over from the OEM bracket. He doesn't make them anymore, IDT. MAybe you could get someone to trace the part for you and just cut your own out.

The BWII came with the pegs done this way. Just a little strip of flat rubber in place of the screw-on pads. Still have the pads in a box if anyone wants them.
There are knurled aluminum pegs f/s on Fleabay in a multitude of colors.

I need to run down to the garage and take a look. If the pads are held in place with screws that's an easy thing to try out. Just don't know if there'll be adequate grip there.

It's short for Blue Whale II-the name I gave my ZX-14. BW I was my ZZR 1200 that I totalled last November.
Here's what's currently on Fleabay

I found 'em, they're made by Pro-tek. On eBay for about $30 a set. Anyone ever heard of these before?

Pro-Tek has been around a while as a brand. Never bought any of their stuff, but I've certainly heard of them.

I'm running Competion Werks aluminum pegs on mine.
The E-Bay pegs are the Chinese copy. Nothing wrong with them that I can tell, have a set on my ZZR12.
FYI,your not constrained by choice because of "ZX-14",any Kaw peg will work as long as it's the same mounting style.
The pegs off a ZZR12 work on a ZX-14,the C-14 pegs fit and I'm sure ZX-12R/10R pegs would fit.

Pro-tek is a Chinese knock off? Motorcycle Superstore sells Pro-tek and they usually carry high quality stuff. These are machined from billet aluminum , not cast. Don't know how good they are but will soon find out.
You want good quality footpegs, if one broke at speed in a corner you might go down.

Don't know about "Pro-Tech".
If they are indeed billet,I doubt they are Chinese.
A file will tell you though.

I saw some of those rear-set plates that use your stock set-up the other day surfing...
Yup:

The powdered metal types will file off easier than cheese. The Chinese copies needed filing at the backs/against the frame to set correctly/level,price you pay for the price.
I don't think either have any bearing for street use. If I were riding MotoX,different story.
Go with what you feel best,I have both myself.

No these are made in USA from Aerospace billet aluminum. Here's a quote:
You are bidding on a set of CNC billet aluminum pro-lite slash-cut Pro-tek foot pegs in Black Anodized Billet Aluminum that replace the rider pegs for a 2006-2011 Kawasaki ZX-14R. They also fit many other listings for Kawasaki and Suzuki Models (See Listing Below). These pegs are brand new still in original packaging, manufactured in the USA, and come complete with manufacturer warranty. The retail price for these pegs are $59. I appreciate payment within 4 days and will reward with a 5 star rating. I appreciate the same in return. Happy Bidding! All items will ship within 1 business day upon cleared payment and will ship US Mail.
These are American made from solid billet aluminum, 100% CNC machined from a name you can trust - Pro-tek. Pro-tek is one of the leading US manufacturers in the motorcycle industry for nearly 20 years. These are not Chinese made pegs made from poured cast or molded that are currently flooding the internet

You have to be real careful when going with Chinese stuff, the knockoffs are usually junk. They may look OK but their function is often not good, especially if they involve close tolerance parts.
Some companies offshore to China, including Japanes companies and they have their own in-house inspectors to ensure consistent quality. These components are typically as good as the originals.
I have had somre really decent quality Chinese goods and some stuff I wouldn't want to leave out by the curb for the trash collector to pick up.

Here's the new Prot-Tek billet foot peg on my 14, they look much better than the fat stock ones. Lowers my foot about 1/2 inch. For $29 I don't think you can go wrong, the quailty is there.

No, no, the peg is as high or higher than stock, the 1/2 inch comes from not having the fat rubber pad on there.Look at the way they're slash cut for increased cornering clearance. These pegs are awesome, rode with them this afternoon and no cornering issues, the ball of your foot rests right on the front edge of the peg, much better feel than the stockers. I highly recommend these.
