I am not an artist, but I mocked this up. I can professional sketch it at work tomorrow, and then post. What do people think. I changed the mantra to "Fallen Gods Among Men" to play on the horns. We could also do "Immortal Among Men" The concept is a skull in the helmet with horns. 14 Nation Head mast can go on the front logo of the helmet.

Thoughts boyz?

If people hate it I will not sketch it. Let me know.

Thanks for the link. Lots of good info there.

Next bike night I think I'll talk to some of the local MC guys and see what they have to say about their experiences.

Dericrey,
Thank you for the information though very useful I observe the following direction from the organization: We would also like to say that we understand that you may or may not agree with some or any of the things contained within this document and only ask that you read it with an open mind and consider that while you may or may not agree, you are at least gaining some insight as to what an MC type club is about.

We are interested in the RC not MC world and so far it directs us to introduce ourselves to other clubs so not to use certain colour designs. When I began this process I looked up all the RC's and discovered many religious and gold wing touring clubs. Many were not in our location. I am not sure what else we can do, once we decide on a badge and start flying the patches? There is no official approval process or declaration process that it directs me too (other than reaching out to clubs and showing our proposed design-which at current is under review).

Good information nonetheless and appreciated. Found some good points though like why it is important to not fly any rocker panels!

Once again, big thanks!
Wman

Sage advice...
Also know that it is a time taking process to make contact with the other clubs in your area. It can take longer than you ever expected. No one is going to come to you. You have not earned any respect and no one is obligated to meet your needs. It's not your world. It's theirs. This is important to know and understand. The sooner you accept that the better off you'll be. So expect to do a lot of leg work. There are many people, Clubs and Organizations to get in contact with. - You may be asked some tough questions in some uncomfortable environments, so be prepared to answer them truthfully - The colors, logo and name all mean someting to not only you, but to others as well. Clubs will want to see your proposed patch. Making sure you don't display anything that may be confused for another Club. That you are not using the name of a Club that came before you. Your colors, logo and name all fall under this scrutiny. So assuming you are looking to enter the motorcycle world in a proper and respectful manner these are some of the steps you can expect to take on your path to starting a Riding Club. You may have to swallow your pride in the process.

Dericrey,
Do you belong, run an RC south of the border?
If so having a solid resource is a huge asset. If not we can keep to the site info as our guide.
Cheers

That link was a good read and got me to step back a second to gather my thoughs about the patch design. The KISS method comes to mind. The green circular 14 Nation from page 2 really hits the nail on the head being simple and straight forward and has a cool retro feel. Especially since we are just going for an O.G./R.C.
People will see the patch and know right away "it's them a55holes that ride them damned high powered Super Ninjas!"

Kiss is always a well advised path to travel...

We are going to form an RC, and with that in mind, I would like a little bit of cool, a little bit of flash bomb, and a little bit of FFFFyou.

I too love skulls, so I'm not ready to give up on that idea yet.

Dave Designed a patch early on, it was simple, it was elegant and I loved it.

The OG's could have the small round 14 badge (simple) but the badge on the back needs to have some flair (or why bother in the first place).

If we abandon skulls or the cool factor we are not honouring who we are, which in my opinion, is a group of 14 enthusiasts, who love to ride together, wrench together and more importantly, from time to time, like to get into a bit of trouble (Ie actually ride and release some ponies). As most of us are forty and above, I think we can also push the envelop a bit with a skull.

When thinking of our badge, why we chose the elements we did and what they mean to us. That boyz, as I read the info from Material Dericrey sent is the design question we need answer!

Green - kawi's colour

Nation meaning a group under one but inclusive to all

Gods...how we feel astride the 14

Skulls...show a hint of badass

I'm on the same page as Wolf.
I really can't see this turning into an issue with other mc clubs. We're not actually putting MC Club or anything like that on the badge to identify us as a group infringing on another groups turf or anything. Plus I don't envision the badge as taking up the entire back of my jacket - Something subtle, but there.
I too don't want to abandon the skull idea. So far I like the way we're headed with the design. Just have to narrow something down now.

Beast, we are kin! Can't agree with you more! An MC is different from an RC. As an RC we will not fly rockers, nor will we use patch designs that disrespect MC's and other RC's for that matter. The guidlines are just that, guidlines, however ettiquette is ettiquette, so there is no harm in shoping around proposed patches with other RC's.

I was thinking of a patch about the size of a ball cap.

But as for skulls, definately!

Dave has put in a lot of work, so mad props D905, you enthusiasm and stand up to all these request (and input) is very much appreciated. We are lucky to have a good core group of guys.

+1 for the skull holding the piston design. Though, I personally do not like the gods amongst men slogan - just a bit too pompous for my taste.

Also, since you're calling it 14 Nation (very cool), I like the idea of incorporating the 14 headlights too. The green ones with the headlights I think are very good for that slogan.

Thanks Brotha,

The Gods Among Men really is antagonistic. There is just something about it, that I like. Hard to explain as I am not a cocky person. I am really humble in nature, but it is just so BADASS! It's weird, I am attracted to it. I also like that it would seriously annoy the "hollier than thou" crowd, maybe, even dare I say, provoke some! I saw a guy with a bright orange vest on an HD Road King on Thursday while at the bank. In bright yellow letters it read, "DO YOU SEE ME NOW ASSHOLE" ROFL!!! I laughed all the way to work. Just something about being arrogant.

My boy Beast is all about altruism, he says (and I agree with him) riding that bike just makes him feel like a God, it's the feeling he gets from riding that bike...

So whether we drop it or not, who knows. Right now the Nation here in Toronto need to get together and chat about our intentions.

Hey Nation, next time we are all out, lets talk?

Peace, Green Love,
Wolfman

Zx that is truely awesome, you managed to insult my riding club, my role as father and then weave it together with a comparo of people I' don't know. Impressive dude!

Now if I felt you were correct, I would attempt to defend my position, but nothing can be further from the truth.

So for now, I am going to form a riding club with some awesome mates, wrench on my bike, enjoy my family and enjoy life on the right side of the grass! YOLO!

But I would say you are right about one thing, life is balance. Give to you family, give to your job and give to yourself. Tranqility to those that can ballance these things...

I wish you and your friend tranquility!

Now what were we saying again, oh yeah, lets meet and discuss these SKULL patches boys!

PEACE!

Nasty, you are an OG in my books regardless of where you live baby.
What's wrong with taking our RC on an international scale?
You could have a chapter of your own (chapter is kinda non RC, more MC) but nevertheless you can develop your own branch of the Nation.

We are happy to have you dude, so don't let the geography interfere with a good thing!

Just wondering how you do it that's all. Im 39 so most of my friends and co workers have kids from 3 to 20 and they are always busy with sports and such. The reason me and my wife don't have kids is for that basically. Even my buddies tell me don't have kids or all that race bike shit goes out the door. Hell even with no kids I work alot and when I'm off on the weekends I have an hour or two to ride each day then its taken care of the house time. Mowing the lawn etc.etc. Just asking how you do it. You must have the most understanding wife ever, or something else.

Zx the way you stated your question this time is totally ok. Basically I work a job from 8-4 (arrive at 7). I pick up my kids, take em out till diner, grab chow and then we go swimming, Karate, park etc. At 7pm I ready them for bed. Bath time and I read to my son and my wife reads to our girl. I am up at 5 am (everymorning) for a 30min run shower and then I hit work at 7 to prep for the day. I do man stuff on weekends around the house and help with the house work. Once a week after my kids go down say 730pm I head out at 8pm - meet the nation and ride till 1:30 2:00 am. Once a month, I get out on a Saturday morn, aft or eve (one). I don't work July or August so I ride a lot then too. I volunteer once a week and I am working on some academic projects on the side. I stopped consulting with my small business when it became too much. So in sum, when the kids are out sleeping, I get bike stuff done. Everyone in the Nation has kids, so they run on the same time share, that's how we link up. As for posts I handle em on my smart phone while "on the go," or waiting on something! Generally the only time I sit down is when I go to sleep. I am very involved with my kids my dad wasn't so I made sure they come first. My wife is understanding and supportive. I had major heart surgery in 2011. We were told it could go well or things could take a tragic turn for the worse. My wife was pregnant at that time and my son was 4. I decided on the operating table that I had done well in my career and was an outstanding Dad, but if I survive this thing I am going to do something for me, just me. I survived. YOLO

How about simple and sweet"ZX14ninjaforum.com"under that we could put a separate line, ONT or NY,CAL etc recoup the cost, and profit above the cost goes to BG to help run this site. The only exception would be CAL,that would have to be HUB land

You never now where my tours will take me, I may pass through Toronto sometime. I once went to town just to put gas in my motorcycle and found myself in the middle of Wyoming.
