I totally agree on both counts Doug. The best part about Black Rims is they look Great with every color bike. I too must admit, it's better to keep the wife happy and then double down with all the points when you get back. Provided the trip goes well off course.lol

The BMW 1000 RR already has light weight Aluminium Rims.... Not as Sweet as these but part of the hole package. I wanted Gloss Blk and paid a bit more for them over the gold, but Black works 4 all. The pictures don't do these Rims justice. Believe me on that count. I paid 1873 all in. Then got burned 349 Duty.(OUCH).

I don't have the BMW just yet(waiting 4 a chink in the armor)...The 14 is a monster down low especially with the timing advanced. The torque our bikes make can't be replaced with a 1000, she's not for sale. As it turns out the front rim will fit the 6R but the rear is a half inch to wide or these puppies would be going no where.

Gloss black paint, powedercoat, or anodized? They look painted or powder coated.

So my guess is that these are for a ZX14 but will fit other bikes?

Either way, they do look sweet! What is the difference between these and a stock set of 14 wheels?

It has been noticed that lighter motorcycle wheels improve the ride experience because of the following factors:

Non-rotational weight, which means that you can reduce the total weight of the motorcycle by reducing the weight of the wheels, which in turn will provide you with better speed and acceleration. Marchesini wheels are believed to weigh at least 10 lbs less than average wheels. Dropping one ounce from the wheels equals with approximately four ounces off any other part of the bike, so this will take 40 lbs off the motorcycle's total weight.

Next is rotational weight. Here too motorcycle wheels weight is reduced, but this time it's dropped from the wheel rims. By reducing the weight of the rim of the wheels you can improve acceleration, which leads to better handling and cornering of the motorcycle.

You mean a set of front and rear Marchesinis are 10 lbs less than stock front and rear wheels. When the wheel is spinning, that 10 lbs less becomes equivalent to 40 lbs less. The centrifugal force or rotation causes the weight of the wheel to exert 4 times as much resistance, so to speak.

Thanks Rook. I'm not the best at explaining these things, I was thinking the s on the end of the word wheels would mean set. Also, I did not mention was anything about Dynamic Weight. The part where one ounce of weight reduction on the rim is equal to about 24lbs at 100 MPH........ Now that's a big deal. yes?

Yup. Dynamic Weight is the weight reduction on the rim of the wheel itself and this is where the action is. If our stock wheels weigh 32lbs this weight savings of 10 lbs or 11 lbs is a big deal. I think we all would like the BST but that price is so very very dear and at 16lbs per set you can see why. They are and will always be on my wish list. and I did try to buy them but the risk of being burned the Duty on a 4000 dollar Rim is to high for us North people or for me anyway. I got caught with these and it cost me 350. So to say I'm a little gun shy is a understatement.Cheers.

Still got the wheels? You all are correct, lighter weight -- and if it's spinning -- and lighter, big difference!
