tires

I'm just curious(as usual). There's been a lot of posts about tires here.Okay-What I'd like to know is...........What SPEED are the performance abilities of these tires being judged at by the rider.Lots say "they grip really well"-Okay,what kind of curve-tight,sweeping,road surface, weather conditions and speed during the curve? In a posted say 40 mph curve,I can generally go through at 80,90 mph.I mean, that's probably pretty common, yes? At wider curves, posted limit say 65,usually I can take at 120,130.(not that I routinely do that). But I have-we probably all have(?).So if ya want-post up with your tire experiences.I've got Diablo Stradas on mine-and NEVER had a slip with em.These types of curves and roads I'm speaking of are "out there"-mainly light traffic, and I've ridden them many times before.I would NEVER ride like that on an unknown road,or on any that were subject to heavier traffic.

I can't say that my review of the Pilot Road II's will be that helpfull but this is what I can tell you with about 1200 miles on a set.

They hook up well at the drag strip for me. Well enough to cut a 1.69 60' with no burnout and 38 psi of pressure. I have not had one traction issue on the street.

They have a great feeling of initial "turn in" where as the OEM rubber felt like I had to almost push it over.

They offer very good straight line high speed stability (I've seen 160+mph a couple of times).

I have not had the opertunity to tell you about wet performance being that I have been lucky not to have been caught in much rain as of yet(maybe 20 miles on wet roads).

Most times when I ride on the street, I do so at a pretty slow pace, so, I can't really tell you much about the high speed sweepers you mentioned but being that the tires are a dual compound I would think that those who have experienced a more extreme riding style would say that they are at least above average.

When the roads are dry and warm (midle of 75 dergee day) I usually enter a posted 25-30mph corner at 70-80mph and roll 0n from there. not sure if that helps any. I'm on 016's.

I know thwe road 2's will take a nice curve posted 45 at a buck 40 with plenty left to spare, and thats 2 up. So yea they hold well and thats at a pretty good lean. This is the second set I've run on this bike and my confidence in them is just as good as in the powers I run on my track bike.
