Well, i've already got 17/45 gearing on the bike. Should be perfect gearing for nitrous.

But..

After all the problems i've had with the nitrous (all of which, my fault..) and the way the bike runs on motor... I'm going to stick to n/a.

SO..

I'm throwing the 16t on the front this week. 16/45 with a 66 1/2" wheelbase should be FUN! hehehehehe

Be on either side of that wall with camera(s) or one side is a 50-50 call it sure looks even from where I am sitting. And eye like to ear the air velocity being pulled in is sit near the end of the bleach ears and listen from there.

solenoid issue yes.

wiring is another story.

I know just enough to make myself dangerous. I had the horn button hooked to a relay to feed power for the rest of the wiring mess. I used both relay outputs from the PC hub. one to activate the nitrous, one to deactivate if i overevved. From there, that relay activated another relay for the solenoid.

All in all, i had 4 relays for one, simple stupid nitrous system. I completely overcomplicated everything. It would have worked, EXCEPT that i forgot the horn power wire was also being used to provide power to the air shift solenoid. So once i rewired the horn button, air shifter didnt work.

I'm considering re-wiring everything all again, much simpler.. But i haven't decided yet.

So you're gonna run 1Bad all motor? I'm not sure how the numbers shake out, but he's gonna have a BIG power advantage, 196 to prolly somewhere around 280+. Then your 170 lbs to his 255 or so? It might not hurt to bring the gas to the game just in case? Crunch the numbers then go from there

I'm considering re-wiring everything all again, much simpler.. But i haven't decided yet.


I know why you wired the nitrous off the horn switch but I am curious, why the shifter ? Slow I for one am hoping you fix it. Would love to see what you can do with a little laughing GAS. 155lbs..... Smoken Fast.

autoshift is technically not allowed in certain classes. so i have to have a button there to show that i'm shifting the bike manually.

bib.. some numbers: 240hp to 280hp, 650lb bike and rider compared to 800lb (ish)

2.7lb per hp (me)
2.85lb per hp (him)

well, i went to rewiring everything.. and accidentally crossed polarity on the map switch.. Fried my powercommander. Damnit.

thinking back, though.. My quickest time ever was without a power commander. I've nudged right up against it, but haven't surpassed it (in PC3's defense, it hasn't been as cool since that day). So, i just swapped my 17 out for the 16, hopefully i can drop my 1.45 60's down to 1.41 or lower.. Bike was pulling 1.45's BOGGING out of the hole. Damnit man

Watt are you going to do with the burned out PC? Wanna sell it? I get it up and running, I'll send it back. I wanna check one thing and it's yours once again. I cover the costs = You nothing. Unless you want to try and salvage it. Just don't toss it just yet.

i dont know anything when i read your shizz hub lol

rom, its 67" with the sprocket change.

I need to soften the suspension ever so slightly. A few launches i was counting the stars (front tire was 3-4' in the air when i crossed the 60' marker, leaving at 6k rpms). Best launch was at 5k, it skittered the front tire and resulted in a 1.42 60'. ran a 9.00 at 150. Air was thick and HOT.

Was running on 87 PUMP GAS, no power commander, and a stock clutch


Made 20 passes yesterday (ran 4 classes and midnight grudge races). Every full pass i made was 9.18 or faster. (non full pass means index or bracket classes)

Ok, I'm ready to get chewed out here on slows thread. Does anyone believe that you can make a better run with less horse power and less torque? How can Slow have a smoother hp curve with no piggy. Hub, do you think that it is anything but the fact that Slow is a top shelf drag racer? Slow,Hub what U say ? Hub do really believe a stock set up will make a faster bike. Me, like alot of guys comb these threads for a note or a hint of more speed or a faster 1/4 ?.... ok...give me shit, because me not buying it ? i WILL attest to this: the bike is MUCH faster with the baffle in, then the baffle out. With the baffle out, it loses backpressure and loses low end torque. Bog the launches = slower 60'.... slower 60' = slower 1/4 EVERYTIME.

i changed the gearing on the bike.. and also lost the PC3 at the same time (actually the next day, but who's paying attention to details?) I CAN NOT guarantee the bike makes as much or more power without the PC3.

Here's the deal: I changed from 17/45 to 16/45. Thats going from 2.647 gear ratio to 2.815 gear ratio.

The bike 60'd QUICKER.. remember what i said about the 60', the quicker your 60' is, the quicker you're 1/4 mile is. EVERY TIME.

The bike MPH'd SLOWER, but still ran a quicker time. Averaged between 148 and basically 150 flat. Generally averages 150 and touches 152 sometimes.

The question i CAN'T answer is the exact reason. There are two possibilities:
Either the bike made less power, because it didn't have a PC3..
OR
The bike has shorter gears, for accelleration compared to speed.

Both of those are perfectly reasonable. The only way of finding out would be to put a PC3 back on the bike, and then remove it the same night and make passes both ways.

There is another reasonable explanation to the lower MPH, and the reason i didn't run an 8 saturday. Once again, the gearing. I'll explain:
I put a 10,600 chip in my autoshifter, anticipating the nitrous (i wanted to make sure it shifted, even if i lost a little bit of the powerband). I forgot to put the 10,800 back in when i realized the nitrous wouldn't work. This caused me to lose some of the powerband, AND it caused an extra gear change right before the traps. If it were shifting at a higher RPM, it could have possibly gotten an extra 2, maybe 3 mph and probably at least another .1 or .15

I have a lot of time to test.. We'll see

Also with the shorter gearing you'r able to get it into the powerband a lot quicker and keep it up there for the most part. Going from the 17 tooth w/ PC to a 16 tooth non PC isn't realy compairing apples to apples here...the 16 tooth is going to get you there MUCH quicker. According one of the sprocket calculator online, the 16 tooth gives you about 5.9% more torque over the 17 tooth. Of course everything is subject to hp, wheelbase, tire dia. ect. but thats a rough idea. You'd def. be in the 8s with that gearing and a PC...provided you quit pointing the bike at the stars, lol.

good deal man. I took my PC apart yesterday.. Nothing really looks like it got hot. None of the solder joints are broken. None of the capacitors or anything else were blown up.. had good continuity on all the wires.. Can't make heads or tails out of it :(

Prob. smoked the/a chip. They are very sensitive to heat/too much juice...they'll smoke befor any of the other components and they don't realy show the "I'm fried" signs like the other parts. I nuked a couple when I was in votech and the only way to know is to swap parts unless you have a badass chip tester.
