Brakes..again

Well alright.Got my front stand today...with pin#14 in case anyone wants to know(PitBull NewFrontStand). She fit up almost perfect...ya...slight contact with my upper inner fairing, but very minimal.Doesn't look like anything's gonna crack on the fairing .

Now I've removed my front wheel, cleaned er up real sparkley and such.Removed the OEM rotors.Ready now to install the new EBC Pro-Lite Contour rotors.Everything looks good with the axle and bearings.I've got ONE 4 pad set ready to go in....the other will be here Dec 1st .This job I wanted to do myself...the front stand is already paying for itself.I've been working on it now for an hour...including cleaning and rotor removal.I did remove the front fender with mine...some of you may not need to.Made access much easier and worry free about scratches.Regreased the front bearings...though they look like they don't need it...I did it anyway "just because"...I didn't remove em,just squeezed the grease in there along the seal lip.

Well...now to install the rotors....

This stand is extremely well built...I'm happy with it.I called the Pitbull guys and told em about the fairing contact. He said when she's in there correctly, there will be NO contact(the pin has an angle on the tip part,so I followed his directions...but she still does touch the underfairing in there).Others may not.He said they tested it on a 14,and there was good clearance.Okay...mine touches. It's cool.

Okay...so I don't feel "bad" now. When you had er up on the stand,do you remember IF your midfairing/upper cowl interface at the front, the two "points" were "separated"...not much, but like maybe a 1/16th of an inch.Mine do.When I set er back down,I was able to push the two fairing seams pretty much back together.I'm a tad concerned about that...but if yours did it,then I won't worry.

Only thing now to do is wait on the other set of pads...have the EBC HH Pro Pads in there on the right side.Everything went back together great. No problems.Won't try these new rotors and pads till the Spring thaw.Then...it's on baby! They be lookin good on there!

Well...I tried setting the pin in there with the bolt across...you know...it raised the pin up 1/2 inch or so.That was as bad or worse.I think it's acceptable....I won't be leaving it up all winter.Soon as I'm done here,it's back to Kickstand time.Put some carpets under the tires...she's okay like that.I only wanted the stand for frontend work anyway...so it is perfect for securing the front. It's only flexing at the outer seam tips...no biggie. She's ALWAYS had a tad of gap right there anyway. When she's back on the ground, without any upward pressure, the bodywork goes back okay as it was.The guy DID say though..."it won't touch(especially with the fender off)".WRONG.I'll try one more combo and see how that goes.I COULD BE WRONG!!!!(God forbid!!LOL!)

Nope...can't get er to clear in any configuration. It's okay.No harm.Anyway...finished the brake pad/rotor replacement(the pads were due tomorrow...got em today instead!Superstore rocks!).Bed in...in the Spring. No problems removing/installing front wheel or parts.I just saved a ton of money with that front stand.Very good!Next "big" project will most likely be replacing fork oil.Not now though.Hope you all that can ride...are gettin some bitchen rides in!PLEASE be safe out there!
