Ahhh, I already have the Cox radiator rock guard. I guess I'll work on the header screen project later.

Well, crap! Since it will be a bit before the chrome bits come back, I decided to do some other stuff.
1) Ceramic chrome the header AND the connector pipe.
2) Muzzy fan
3) MAYBE! Progressive lowering kit from Schnitz Racing Your text to link here...
I might as well get'er done while it's all torn apart.
Need to order: new header gaskets & clutch cover gasket.
Scott, see what you started? :)

scottjkyl, your project came out great. For those that want to cut cost, go to HomeDepot and get "Gutter Gaurd" in the roofing section. I did the same with my zzr600 and cost me $8. For some, purchasing it from ebay works but I did it myself following anothers idea on a different forum. It takes a good 20 minutes to form the screen correctly to the fairing and FYI, use garden gloves or something because cut screens will cut your hands up. The only reason I did not do this to my zx14, I was worried about circulation. Mine runs hot, like it supposed to cuz it's a big engine, but my thought was by adding a screen, you are not allowing as much air to breath via the fairings. Another note, maybe this is not a problem, but when I did mine, I used epoxy. Why, because the fairings that close to an engine truly need an epoxy vs silcone due to the massive amount of heat the engine gives off. I'm no expert, but scottjkyl, your fairings came out excellent.

dogszzr thanks man im happy with them. I agree you must use the epoxy not only for engine heat but to hold those screens in place for several hrs waiting for silicone to set up would be near impossible. As for them restricting air flow , the sides to me are not shaped to direct air into that engine area in fact just the opposite so I dont see that being a problem near as much as if maybe screening the opening in front of the radiator.

I'm still waiting for the chroming. Titanium & plastic takes a bit longer, I guess.
Anyway, I nixxed the cerami-chroming because I sold my Scorpion exhausts. I got a good deal on a full 'Yosh' single-sided exhaust system that'll show off the swingarm better (for show). I'm also going to hold off on the Muzzy fan for now... I haven't had a heat problem yet.
I also nixxed the lowering kit. I'm already scraping on speed bumps!
Pics as soon as I get it all assembled.
Keep it safe, All.
