Shorai was the ONLY reliable one at the time I got mine. Even that company had some early problems with production (bikes started on fire). I've heard others recommend other brands but never heard any reason why. When the busa's stock battery finally takes a dump, I might try something else if it's lighter...maybe. The Shorai I have in the 14 has gone 5 years and seems good as new. If it costs a bit more, it's probably worth it. Then again, other brands may be getting the same longevity.

I purchased one of these in Sept along with the charger when the OEM battery failed and have been very happy with it so far:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00F9LPJ8S/ref=sr_1_1_olp?ie=UTF8&qid=1410438447&sr=8-1&keywords=BTL14A240C&condition=new
Bike has been put in hibernation for the winter so I will find out in the spring if it is as good as advertised.

My shorai took a dump after 1 month of storage..... heated storage too mind you.
Now I have to get a shorai charger on there and see if it will come back. pretty disappointing.
That sux. I had mine on the shelf for 3 months before I installed it and it started the bike just fine. Just last week, the bike started at 40 F after a few hours on the charger. That was after the bike sat without the maintainer for 4 months. Seems to hold a charge just fine. You might try the Shorai charger. It is supposed to balance cells and perform diagnostics when put in CHARGE mode. Never had mine seem weak unless I tried starting the bike after storage without restoring it to full charge. MAINTAIN mode keeps the battery at 80%. Even then, the bike started but it took a lot of cold cranking.

Lots went on here. May not have been Batteries failt.
Installed this one in a 14R a few months back. Much bigger in physical size. Nothing much to report as Battery is still too new

I bought my lith battery from autozone. 130.00. Fits perfectly and ways about 1 lb. Just a guess. I've had it in a year with zero problems. I keep the battery tender on it when I'm not riding. Best battery ever. Short is too expensive and needs special charger. Stay away.

My Shorai is going into it's 6th year of service. Have the charger and use it over winter storage. The battery is a 12 amp instead of the recommended 14 amp but still cranks the bike up just fine after a winter sleep and a full charge. 0 problems after installing. That thing can sit weeks and still holds almost a full charge. 1.25 lbs. I guess I'd try the Antigravity if its lighter. This Shorai might not ever burn out though.

Does the BatteryTender BTL14A240C fit correctly? I have my Amazon account set up with my bike as one of my vehicles and it says this battery doesn't fit. It could be wrong so wanted to check with anyone running it. How does it fit? How does it perform?
Thanks
Dave
