Target AFR
05/31/12 6:47 AM

My bikes mods are
full exhaust 4 into 1 TiForce
DNA air filter
power commander III with ignition module and quick shifter
g-pack over 3
je pistons
muzzys camshafts, cam sprockets and valve springs
ported head
46mm throttle bodies.
I was dynotuned it with pump gas and it made 215ps.
I am wondering what woulb be the best air/fuel ratio for best performance, can someone send me a power commander V target AFR map?

I am NOT an expert and I have NOT done self tuningg yet but I seem to recall the DJ guys telling me 12 or 13 is what they shoot for. Just a hint since you have not gotten any response. Get advice from others too.

215,,, Sweet. The #'s you are looking for should be on the bottom of your Dyno Sheet. Pump gas ? 13.25 13.4 ?

This is my current a/f ratio and power curve. Pump gas (100 octane)

This is how it is set up Default. IMO Stick with your 13.4 as it made the biggest #'s

I am new to using the bazzaz afm with the wideband and currently targeting 13.1 all over but am going to experiment with 12.8 on the top end. I was reading on the bazzaz forum that the kawi bikes seem to like that. If I notice any difference I will post up.

Keep in mind that the dyno can not simulate the effect of ram air which will throw your "dyno AFR" off.

13.2:1 = Lean best torque at WOT

12.5:1 = Safe best power at WOT

On dyno or street?

It's a chart? It is a base number for street. A dyno number is when snowflake likes this AFR for peak HP. If you are looking for peak torque, there is your other AFR target number. Not that specific number, but close to where snowflake [the said mod from one mod to the other combination] it is that flow speed or how fast it takes the even to happen.

14.7:1 Is your 'chemically ideal' range.

I run 15.2:1 AFR on cruise. That is at part throttle loads or cruising mode.

16.2:1 is economy lean at part throttle.

Once you upset the IAP sensor (intake air pressure sensor) she shoots to the 12-13 range. WOT the throttle, the accel mode kicks in. This moves to 11.5:1 AFR range for best torque.

9:1 is black smoke rich ~ low power.

6:1 is fouled plugs ~ Rich run limit.
18 to 22:1 is getting hot ~ Lean run limit.

Can we make this clear?
What would be the best target AFR for best power on the street not dyno?
