I was looking into getting one but kinda anal about stuff working right on my bike...If I get the box will my gear indicator still show the selected gear or will it just read 6 all the time?

Correct Bobby. I'm going to quote more of a paraphrase from the one page of the book. Top of the pages reads, "We take measurements if a senor is not receiving the correct signal we have designed to read at this range. If this occurs, we now take measures to insure the bike is safe (cough) to run if you think this is OK with you, then lose some HP is our way of saving the engine and not taking advantage of its FULL potential, play in this area is safe as you like.'
On the same page you finger down to code [6] that reads right in that box its sitting in, that is the same page above that states why you are here on this page. It said when this event happens, holds my mouth... excuse me. When this even happens cough-cough-cough, I've got something in my throat. I'll be right back.
I need to switch to doughnuts. Cough couGH COUGH... gotta go.

PM Scottjkyl. He has a Bonneville hooked up. I don't think it disables the gear indicator. I hope not. I have one waiting to go in my bike some day. I like my gear indicator.
Limp my ride?
actually, the Bonneville is designed to prevent limp mode. You can do as fast as the bike will go without activating the top speed limiter. The Bonneville bypasses that. Otherwise, the Bonneville is used to correct the speedometer for stock speedo error or different gearing. It does not uncork anything. Just lets you use the bikes top speed and retains the bike's corrected speedo reading the whole time.
I have a SpeedoHealer installed at present. It also corrects the speedo. To bypass the top speed limiter, I need to adjust the speedometer so that it reads low. In this way, the speedo never hits 186mph and the top speed limiter never kicks into limp mode. The Bonneville will do this without the low reading speedometer. In other words, you go 200, the speedo will read 200, no limp mode.
Grn14 also had a Bonneville. PM him.

You guys CAN get a Healtech Speedohealer V4...no cutting any wires...no loss of gear indicator...no increase in mileage at any setting.Easy to work with...but it will NOT work on a 14R model. All others...yes.It will remove the top speed limiter...bypass I should say.
One very cool feature..it has a top speed recall function...nice.

If you get an answer, can you post here? I'm curious also...thinking about one, but don't want to lose the gear indicator.
Just PMed Scottjkyl on FB. The answer is NO effect on gear indicator with the Bonneville. Gear indicator functions, same with or without the Bonneville box.
The Bonneville weighs a few ounces. Heavier than a PC. My SHv4 weighs only a couple ounces. The Bonneville is great for top speed runs where you want to view a quick, acurate speedo reading without hitting the speed limiter. Of course if you want to be really accurate, I guess a GPS is best.

And watt this says are a few things. One would think; who am I wired to? The speed sensor or the gear position sensor? And that says I am not wired to the GPS: but the speed sensor.
And that says the EE's figured out sending in the 1, not the 0: if it's wired to the GPS.
Make sense how to 3wV more variables? So I have no clue but to keep booking it you show up with 'HA reach around.'

All the speedo correction devices I have seen plug inline to the speed sensor lead connector.
The Bonneville has the same sort of plugs but it also has a couple other wires. One is possibly a ground wire the other splices in to this blue wire at the ECU.
I don't recall any of the speedo correction devices locking the gear map or the gear indicator. The only thing that did that was the TRE or GIpro mods which effected secondary flies performance. That will give you more oomph on a 06-07 but if I had one of those bikes, I'd just take the flies out. ..although the TRE is pretty cheap and easy if you just want to get a taste without putting in a great deal of effort.

"You guys CAN get a Healtech Speedohealer V4..."
My understanding with the SH is that in order to "de-activate" the limiter, you basically adjust the speedo to read a lower speed? Or am I mis-understanding how it works?
What I'm looking for is to correct the speedo to show actual speed, keep the gear indicator, and remove the limiter at the same time. If the SH will do this, and costs less than the Bonneville, I'll go that route.
And thanks Bobby! If you get down this way on two wheels, lemme know...

..this is true MPH...I ran out of road before I was able to top out all the way.Just not enough length(road) with stock gearing where I did this.Speedohealer version 4 for 2007 zx14.Top speed recall function.
What I'm showing is...there was no 'limp mode' on mine at 190 on the speedo.Set at approx -7 something. You can see it clearly bypassed the factory limiter. This setting was to correct the factory offset....which it did.

You will have a hell of a time with that airbox plug that comes with the blockoff plates. I heard a guy froze his to shrink it a hair and got it in. I just used a plastic endcap sanded down a bit. Is the Muzzy's disk a new type of airbox plug?

I already got it in the freezer, lol, the other is a plug for when you run a 4-2-1 pipe and you have an empty hole on the opposite side foot peg bracket, provides a filler, Imma paint it black as well as the heel guards and foot pegs and shifter and brake pedel, going for the stealth figher look.
