Power Commander Accelerator Pump
07/22/09 1:46 PM

I'm interested in finding out if anyone else is using the Accelerator Pump function on their ZX14? And If so what settings are you using? I'm at 80 17 17 and love it! I may try 90 15 20 this weekend.

Just wanted to know what others are set at...

I had this setup on my 2002 GSXR600 and loved it. It was a must after installing the powercommander on my ZX14!

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>More info if you Don't Know<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

The Accelerator pump is free! All you need is the powercommander USB

Here is more information on the Accelerator function:

Here is the download you will need from powercommander:

This is where I may show my complete ignorance but I have to ask the question... If you have had a dyno done and have the A/F ratios adjusted correctly right through the rev range, wouldn't chucking a bit of extra fuel down its throat just upset the applecart? Especially if a sudden opening of the throttle reduces the pressure?

I say complete ignorance because years ago I used to work on cars with carburettors and these had an accelerator pump that seemed to do the trick. If it works and the science behind it is sound, I'll give it a go. Sorry, I didn't answer the question but I'm not too sure at the moment whether it is a great idea.

I'd rather have a bottle in front o' me than a frontal lobotomy!

I've set mine to the stock settings-90,15,20.However-I did read SOMEWHERE(can't remember now)that enabling it may be just a waste of fuel(?)I don't really know.I'm not sure actually if our bikes "need" the function operating?
