Batteries

Well...to all you who got your Shorais....I'm all in now.I bought one as well.Bought that charger to go along with it.Got the one for the 2011 zx14...whatever that model is.Few several pounds less on the new baby...ya....should be good.

Okay...so now with the slip-ons,battery upgrade....that should just about get er in the same weight as the earlier models. At least 20 lbs slimmer. To go with the 1441.Remove rear fender...another what...4 lbs maybe?Possibly up ahead...lighter brake rotors?IDK.

love it......you're buying mods before you get the bike! No excuses. You have to buy one now. Good choice on the Shorai charger soon.

Yes, a battery is easy first choice. Will work in all years. I may get one for my C14 even, after the first riding season. She's not getting any mods first season unless the handgrips vibrate, in which case she gets custom hollow bars (pretty much same as on ZX14 clipons, just up and back a lot more) with Vibranators in them. End of vibration.

Got my Shorai today...EXCELLENT quality.Charger...top notch.Have er charging right now.....very happy with this deal. It's VERY light.VERY.The charger has professional connectors on it...as does the battery charge port.Looks like it's a keeper all right. Thanks guys for the heads up on the Shorais!Terminals look thick and strong.Battery materials(outside) look very quality.Packaged in a very good deal.Plenty of extra shims(made of foam with a nice sticky peel off paper backing)...several cut sizes and thicknesses.Looks very good.

Has nice quality 'pigtail'(two actually) that plug into the battery(a long one and a shorter one)(whichever you want to use for charging on the bike)...the charger has a hook that comes out and you can hang the charger on the footpeg or whatever...so no more attaching to the terminals.

The pigtails are rectangular pin type...nice.You leave the one plugged into the battery, then use the other as an extension, connected to the charger.

Yup, love my Shorai and will get one for the new bird as well - but I will wait until it's actually in the garage before buying any mods for it...

Just put my Shorai back in the 14 after it sat out of the bike in the house NOT on any knd of charger for 5 months. The fuel pump cyclce sounded weak when I turned the key on but the battery turned the motor over over and over on dry fuel system ambient temp 40 F or slightly less. It started and seems like it will continue to do so for a long time.
