Hurricane Sandy

.
Here comes SANDY. If you are in the hurricane path stay safe out there. Hopefully the forecasters are wrong this time.

I welcome the opportunity to test my Liberty's ability to ford three feet of water.

In addition, if the ne'er-do-wells of Pittsburgh decide to become opportunistic then I will be able to conduct field trials of the EOtech holosight I attached to my FNAR.

Im starting to sound like Priv!

This is one of those times I wish I had my old Yamaha Enduro. That thing could ride anywhere under any rough terrain, even knee high water. Mine was one like this one,

I'm trying to get my money back from my credit card.At least shes getting payed working from home to she can get her training and computer and phone at Harrisburg.

Nothing wrong with gearing up for the day the zombies and lawless descend on your peaceful little world. Even if they never do.

I'm in western Maryland, so going to get the wind and of course the rain (its been raining for 24 hours straight) but not much else. Not even much wind.

I had minor surgery last week, and will again next week, getting a few problems taken care of before the big one.

Cooter rides his ZX14 with category one hurricane? Here in Philly even public transportation is shut down. It is simply not safe, especially with so many flying debris.

Audio, count your blessings, I think the hurricane is heading to Harrisburg in a matter of hours. In less than one hour it will land in Atlantic City with sustained winds of 90 mph.

I haven’t ridden my ZX-14 thru a cat 1 yet only tropical storms but I did ride my CBR 600 and V-Star 650 in a cat 1!!!! The worst hurricane I have ever been in was Charley it was a cat 4 and I was about 1 mile from the eye (in a house not on a bike) that shit was crazy I watched screen enclosures get ripped off houses and get tossed thru the air like paper!! Down here in FL we don’t worry unless it’s a cat 3!

Like the way yall think Hagrid. I told some rowdy neighbors threatening to visit after a hurricane in Baton Rouge something very similar. Of course they knew my ass had the weapons, so they did not carry through on threats. My dumbass told them this infront of a few Sheriff's Deputies also. LOL

Hope everyone comes out alright. Thinking too late to tell ya to be safe.

What ticks me off sometimes is the zombies will probably never come. I mean, I sometimes long for a house invasion, just so I'd get a chance to conduct live fire training with my new Glock 23 in 40 caliber.

It just ain't the same shooting at paper targets.......

Sandy petered out pretty much in western Maryland, but I feel sorry for my brothers and sisters on the eastern shore, including Baltimore.

My girlfriend drove to Harrisburg,Pa Tuesday morning. She said on the Turnpike in the mountains it was snowing.Main road in Harrisburg was closed due to flooding. But where she had to go was ok.Shes coming home Friday, and shes safe thank God.She has a AWD Blazer. She just called to tell me shes driving around looking for a Post Office.Shes coming home tomorrow.Really miss her. This storm screwed everything up.I was supossed to go a day earlier. But they said not to.So I cancelled my reservation. Then they called her early Tuesday morning and said to come.I would of sat in the car for 5 hrs.At least they had power.

@Kofla.I hope your safe in Philly.Don't know if you have power or not.And to all my Brothers on the east coast,be safe.

Snowed enough in Cumberland MD and west towards WV that folks couldn't get out of their driveways.

Mostly the power stayed on there.

Here in the Cumberland Valley where Hagerstown is located, we got off easy, no problems at all.

Weather records for mid-Atlantic region go back 500+ years (no, European settlers, we weren't the first ones here) and this was probably a 1,000 year storm because there is nothing close to it in the weather records for over 500 years.

I was one of the lucky ones, didn't lose power. Some of my coworkers and friends did. The clinic where I work remained closed for two days. We are expecting a nor'easter tomorrow and Thursday! More freezing rain, gusty winds, and temps in the high 20's. Lots of people in Jersey and New york are still struggling.

I lived on the beach in Hampton,Nh in 87-89.We had a winter house on the ocean. In Janurary it snowed 48 inches in 24 hrs.Still a record. Then we had a Nor'easter then it had freezing rain that turned to hail.I couldn't believe it.
I tried to drive to work in my Subaru Brat.Felt like I was driving on rocks then the wind hit.Ripped the hood off my car and smashed into my windshield,no way.I turned it around and drove it backwards in 4wd to a store that had power.Bought a 12 pak of Bud,fuck this.I hit a payphone to calloff and they said weather is no excuse. They wanted me to back it to work 10 MILES.I hung up and backed home.
