Brocks
09/17/13 12:20 AM

Has anyone had issues with Brocks.
I sent mail to them after running flying quarters last weekend.
My bike run 182mph all 6 runs
It wouldn't pull past indicated 300kph on the clock
Would do same speed 5th 11700 rpm so I know the rev limiter is increased
6th gear was 10500 rpm same speed but wouldn't pull anymore
It also did the same speed in traction control 1 as in traction off.

I got a response telling me to buy more of their products to go faster.
Also to use lower octane petrol even after explaining to him our 95-98 is equal to your 89 as we use a RON scale for octane like euro countries.
I already have one of their pcVs coming so its not like im a one off spender.

Not once has it been suggested I send it back so they can check it and im afraid that being told my Yoshi pipes are no good and to buy a full brocks system and pcV from them when im questioning the part I already have is ok.

Not happy today.

I don't doubt he or his staff are clued in on these things.
But to offer a flash and a then fit a PC 5 is a bit odd and reverse engineering in my book.
You have cracked the ECU. Why then intercept with a piggy back. Doesn't make sense to me.
If you run into any trouble one of us can Flash or check your settings in OZ with Woolich Software.
Probably have it there and back quicker.
Mine ran 318kph on the dyno with no ram air so the limiter removal button in the Woolich Program works.
You also need to get rid of the safety maps on these. They are not a learners bike.

Get on it....

Click the link and look for Lee Pritchard. He uses and sells Bricks parts but he'll help you narrow down your problem rather than just try to get you buy more stuff.

Your text to clicky here

I don't have all the facts regarding your interaction with Brick... only my own observations.

Response

The first things that you will want to do is one of our full systems and a power commander with our map. That will get you a lot more horsepower. Slip-ons really don’t give you much power. Also if you can find gas with a lower octane that would be good. We run 89 octane, 98 is more than you need for a stock motor and is hurting your power. You will also want to lower the bike, the lower the better, front and rear.

Thanks,

What annoys me the most is no offer to check the ecu has received a full flash. I paid 375 and over 100 freight which in nzd plus import tax is a weeks wage. I have the ecu out and ready to send and would have paid freight again without questioning it but the least I could expect was for an offer to check it for me.

I wish I hadn't already ordered and paid for a brocks pre programed pcV 2 weeks ago which hasn't arrived yet.

I see they don't understand what RON means otherwise he wouldn't have told you to change fuel grades.

Woolich Racing is much closer to you. I would give them a ring.

Yeah thanks. I might wait until next winter now as its riding weather here now.
Then ill get it flashed in aus instead.
I did expect a bit more from brocks on the customer service side.

Yes, cracked into the ECU, but hidden bins are still not found, i.e., idle/accel maps are two examples.

Who has at least the accel mode? Aftmrk products. When it comes to 'reversengineering' it's all about tweaking those tiny hidden HP drawers/lockers/closets. Accel is a lag out the gate, or it's linear out the gate.

Brock Davidson has emailed me for the serial number on the flash work. So will see if he will take the ecu back in for a look. I don't mind paying the freight and losing a months riding but the important thing is that I know its correct for the next closed road event.

On another note regarding Brocks.

Just in case anyone didn't read my other post............Brock's are now repairing their mufflers.

So if you lay your machine down,as I did, there is no more being forced to buy a new one for $795 or so. (although they did offer me a new one one for $550 or so if I didn't want to wait on the repait..............But I waited....LOL

Mine is apparently ready to rock and I should get it next week. Cost me $372.

Not cheap, but alot better than having to buy a new one.
