RE: Exhaust options for 2013 models ?

I guess the full system provides slightly better horsepower, but let's face it - how many of us could genuinely tell the difference, right ?

I'm keen on a set of 4-into-2 Akrapovic exhausts in CARBON FIBRE for my 2013 model, but can't seem to find anyone stocking it. Most sites I've searched show full systems and/or slip-on canisters for models 2006-2011 only.

Given they'll look pretty much the same, I'm inclined to buy a pair of slip-on canisters and save the money !

Does anyone on this forum know who sells Akrapovic systems for the 2012-2014 model ZX14R ??

Cheers,
Flemo

Ya...you can buy the Akro headers separate. Then go with a nice slip-on...Akro is one of the only companies that will sell 'just the header' portion.700 USD...something right in there.Stainless Steel.Very nice...fit great.I KNOW the Akro will bolt up to a set of Yoshis...and now...Vance and hines. The midpipe can be bought separate as well...so you could have 'concievably' several different slip-on combos...I got my headers from 'IndySuperbike'...I may have been able to actually find em cheaper...but landed there...so I bought some. Not a bad price really.I COULD feel a difference...yes...I could.

Brocks systems generate the most power that I've ever heard/read/seen. My bike bone stock avg ( repeating ) dyno was168hp ( dont recall the torque spec ). Then after BMC filter, Brocks StreetMeg system, Brocks dragmap dumped onto the PC3, and race fuel ( cant remember if it was VP or MR ) it bested 192.77hp at just under 115lbft. Quite a power upgrade for $1500 total, but of course I run the streetmap 95% of the time so those numbers would be down a bit in everday use.

1. When the pond was at its prime, Muzzy was there as was Brock. A gauntlet by Muzzy was laid down by Muzzy against Brock. Brock did not step up.

2. A ragozine came out and had a pipe puff-off. Muzzy won the HP war.

3. I believe a member here made comment of the article being Muzzy won: after all the pipes were swapped out on a base engine is my understanding.

Ya..so true...unless you're dragging...you don't need something that'll give ya 2-3 hp more...and this I say having an Akro header on mine I went that way cause I wanted a quality lighter header...and Akro was the ONLY one I found that sold the header by itself....I had the slips already. For real world street biking...no one needs a 2K $ exhaust system...IMO.

Thanx hub.....I didnt know Muzzy beat out Brock, so that's news to me.....I knew his setups were creme of the crop at the strip but I'm no drag racing fan though, I just fell in love with the deep tone of Brocks' systems so the additional power was just a perk. Plus, I enjoy the between-session conversations at the local roadcourses when guys are wondering what exhaust system I'm floggin' past them down the front straights LOL

YW, mutt. I was sitting in the bleachers that day when Muzzy called the zipper to come down and hang the boys out. With that kind of confidence it's hard to beat and no pun intended. I have no clue the hp difference, but look at it as, someone wins the HP wars and someone wins the Sound wars. So if the Brock has the sweeter tone to your ear?

The M10-M14 exhaust kicked Brocks in the ass from what I hear, but Im a sold Muzzy fan no matter what just from a sound and power perspective and Im the type of guy that believes you gotta crush me hard to get me to switch from what works and I'm die hard Kawasaki so I may be a little bias, lol.
