Morning all,
Just bought my first Zx14 (very happy) and was just wondering which hugger to go for. Any recommendations?
Thx Spanish

I love the look of huggers. Would love to get one w/o the chain guard like they make for the ZX-10 but All ZX-14 huggers have the chain guard molded in. I suspect that is because there are not sufficient mounting points for just the hugger. They have to include the chain guard for secure attachment on the ZX-14.
I keep a mod info log so I know what to buy in the future. All I have for huggers is "Avoid Bestem Carbon Fiber hugger. It fits poorly." That would be based on reports I read on forums like this one and others.
Looks like the Powerbronze is about the only one they have on Ebay. The CF hugger made by Kawasaki is expensive and to me, looks like it fits too close to the swingarm on the chain guard portion. Gonna rub there and just looks like a less than perfect fit. A small gap over the swing arm like the powerbronze is much better looking and better all around IMO.
One more thing I can tell you, I have heard of people having trouble with a 55 height tire fitting with a hugger on. The 55 height is very nice for cornering. Should be fine if you stay with stock 50 and a hugger.
LOL looks like someone is sellling their rear fender on Ebay. $14.

Now hold on Rookster...I've got a Bestem CF hugger. She fits perfectly!
hm-? Maybe they changed it. I have no experience with the Bestem at all. Looks nice in pics but if you google it, you will find a lot of complaints about Bestem body panels not fitting. Some comments about the hugger not fitting but a lot of positive feedback as well. I guess you never know with carbon fiber. Seems like one batch is different from the next.
here's the thread that swayed me away from buying it.
(BTW<, good tip about running a 55 tire/hugger. Shim it up with some washers. Sounds like it would work?

Bean, that is the best looking hugger I have seen for the 14. I like the simple round shape. Tell me something, do you think it would be secure if you were to cut off the chain guard? I mean just leave the front hole for one screw on the left side and cut the rest of the chain guard off? would that stay put?

Just for safety's sake,I wouldn't remove that chain guard.Could just be enough resistance to keep that chain from flying upwards in case of a break...God Forbid.Chain going to the ground and off...goood.Chain wrapping around front sprocket and locking rear wheel....baaaaad.

I use this one and quite like it. Although when I put a 190/55 inside it the small rocks it picked up scored it up. I use a 180/55 now anyway as it handles better than the 190/55 so I can recommend this one

I have a powerbronze covers for the airduct. never again. crappy finish, when I sought some support/advice from teh local importer, I was told to go away. never again. I've used plenty of geelong cc gear over the years and love their product, always v high quality.
I had to spend money to correct the powerbronze crap. i only wish GCC had the duct covers, I'd have them in a jiffy.
yes the price hurt, but I want it right, not "close enough"
