Kevlar Jeans
07/09/10 8:17 AM

I'm thinking about investing in a pair of Kevlar jeans, and was wondering if anyone here has ever worn them. I'd be using them for everyday riding and maybe a few trips down the 1/4 mile.

How are they for fit ? (do they run true to size ?)

Hot in the heat ? (Hotter than reg. jeans)

Appearance compared to regular jeans ?

You "might" do better getting a pair of those carrhart canvas pants...probably way cheaper...they're pretty thick.

I don't have the kevlar jeans but I do have the Air Mesh Kevlar Pants. Love them. They are expensive when you add in the x-tras. Worth every penny. Saved my ass several years ago in the Smokies. If you are interested, tell them not to put that gay patch on the front when they build your pants.

It looks like the Kevlar is pretty far up there as far as durability. I located a place about 50 miles from me that stocks the Kevlar Jeans. I guess I'll head up there next week to try some on.

Well we bought them. A pair in Blue for me and a pair in Black for the Mrs. We found a nearby BMW dealer (50 miles) that stocked DRAGGIN JEANS. When we tried them on, the Mrs. found she needed one size larger. Mine fit true to size. They are as comfortable as regular jean. Which means we will be more apt to wear them ,than leathers. And our Local Drag Strip says they will accept them the same as Leathers in the 130mph+ Street Classes.
They "feel" a little thicker where the linings are, but not real bulky. Lookin forward to tryin' them out this weekend.
Oh, and they cost about $99 a pair.
And FYI, Standing in the BMW (bike) dealership, I felt like an Alien that had just landed in Times Square

definately a big thumbs up for the Draggin jeans I'm onto my second pair and I find them great excellent fit long lasting look good and are very comfy after a couple of wash's I have looked at the other brands like Sartso and the like but have found that the actual kevlar inners are not as thick and the stitching does not look as good quality

We absolutly LOVE them ! They are extremly comfortable and we wear them every time we ride without hesitation.
Thay are cut just like normal jeans with a relaxed fit. They ARE a little warmer that regular Jeans on those exceptionally hot days.
Sizes run close to regular jeans, though maybe a little snugger on the women.
But just the fact that we wear them EVERY time we ride, makes them worth every penny !!

I have the draggin jeans camo ones,,they fit great,,,last great,,,
But how cares,,,its how they protect you,,
I have had 2 major falls,,,both spills around a corner,,,around the same fall conditions,,,and here are the results,,

The kevlar dragin jheans held up better then my standard blue jeans by a bit,,not much,,
Things like cell phones,,lighters.,or other objects in the pockets of any pants cause an edge to occur where friction builds the most (as in when your draggin on that pavement and the fabric is doing its job-ot not).
Once a tear occurs it becomes a rip and then your exposed,,,

Accidents and falls happen fast,,,
So what I found is that once a hole opens in the fabric it gets worse real fast and tears and by by skin,,

SO if you think that those fancy keval fabric pants will do a much better job at not allowing skin damage,,your correct,,,but only if you keep objects out of your pockets,,,once an object in your pocket gets into the equation,,,IE you fall and skid on the side that had the object in your pants pocket,) that object causes most friction surface area,,which causes a hole and causes a tear,,and walla,,,your skin is now griding away instead of the kev...

I personally now ride with shorts in the summer time,,pants in ok conditions,,and in winter I have a pair of fleeced lines draggin jeans,,

I DO LOVE MY DRAGGIN JEANS KEVLAR PANTS,
