Evotech gas cap, yea or nay?
12/13/14 2:42 PM

Looking at Motomummy's website when I ordered my titanium Hyperpro damper I noticed they had a black and orange gas cap. It looked really good in the picture but not sure I like it, orange isn't as dark as I'd like. What do you think, should the orange stay or get swapped for a titanium colored center cap? Actually the more I look at it I think the titanium base with the orange and black center would look good.

For those of you that have one of these already did you reuse the factory screws or the ones supplied. Mine came with black screws but looking at them they look exactly the same size as the factory ones so I tried the stock ones for a little contrast. The Kawasaki logo on the tank is the only label, emblem or sticker left on the bike. I also read online where guys were having to cut the stock gas cap assembly gasket to work with the Evotech, was really surprised that there isn't one on the 14.

Wow, I should have wiped the tank down before snapping the pictures.

I have the same model for my B/O busa with all orange gas tank. I got all black. It's really nice looking and lighter than the LighTech I have on the 14.

I know the problem of color matching between anodized parts. There really aught to be standardized colors for this stuff. For me, after 3 or 4 anodized parts are put on, I don't really see enough difference to bother about. Most of them are really close.

If the titaneum color is a bright white metal, I think I'd stay away from that. If it's dark grey like the Hyper-Pro damper Titaneum, that would be just about the right amount of contrast with the black tank.. The black base is pretty subtle but it still looks great. I think your idea to use brighter screws to highlight it was a good one. Get some anodized orange screws from Pro bolt. That is probably who made the black screws that came with the cap. ...or anodized gold!!! You'll need more gold stuff to carry through the scheme. Then you will be in anodized screw spending hell with me and dragking! LOL You want to start spending $14 on a screw? Start buying Pro Bolt Ti steel stuff at Pro Bolt. Recently saw a Gen3 ZX-10 engine mount/swing arm kit in Ti for over $800!
