*snicker snicker*

Well, since my bike is hibernating the rest of the season, a buddy of mine is letting me ride his zx10 at a race on the 14th. He's letting me t-n-t this weekend with it. Pretty cool, never been on a 10 before

Rickey Gadson runs faster 1/4 on the 08 zx10 than the 08 zx14.
8.70 on pump to be exact.

I will not share my thoughts on riding a liter bike in a straight line only.

Lucky. I wouldn't have a problem sharing bikes if I knew someone who was as into it as much as me and was fairly level headed and would share the maintenance. Cheap way to own multiple bikes if you ask me. have fun! It might convert you.

The only reason he won't get seduced by the dark side is if folding up like a pretzel to sit on it doesn't hurt anyplace. Heh.

If he's good with the ergonomics, he'll never be back.

By the way, the 2010 ZX-10R gets an Ohlins steering damper, so Kawk decided to fix the remaining headshake issue. Anyone with an 09 or earlier with the lower grade damper on it can easily swap it for an Ohlins, they mount virtually the same.

A steering damper will not mend the violent hit above 10K rpm on the 10r.
People who track the bike have upgraded from the oem damper on day 1 of ownership.
The 2010 10r didn't recieve the astonishing front end of the 09-10 6r with the inverted forks and the Nissin front calipers. The 2010 10r is still brute force that's only useful in the hands of the few very gifted riders.

well, to my dismay he called today and reported an output shaft issue.. Appearantly the bearings locked up (or something) and the shaft is completely off centered.. so no zx10 for me

Bummer. Good thing you weren't on it when that happened. You would be fixing it.

Front Brake Type Dual semi-floating 310mm petal discs with dual four-piston radial-mount calipers

Rear Brake Type Single 220mm petal disc with aluminum single-piston caliper
