No more Kiss
01/04/14 4:04 PM

Hi everybody
What an encyclopedia you are editing here !!!
Brand newcomer I need infos to build a zx 14 powered car
I am Arnaud 50 y'o living in France / paris
Car is a UK kit car Fisher Fury powered by a zzr 11 when I bought it
End up lately with a zx14 09 for much more fun
I'm currently working on it & the adaptation is done
Time has come to start it & here come the problems
Zzr 1400 euro model get the immobiliser & coded keys kiss system

So here are my Qs
Do you know if/how I can get rid of it by a remap ?
Do all US models get the kiss system ?
Did it appear on certain year so ECU are not all same ?

I will remap the ECU
Can I use an earlier ecu model to fit my 09 version

Thanks a lot for any help

So here are my As

1. Do you know if/how I can get rid of it by a remap? No.
2. Do all US models get the kiss system? No.
3. Did it appear on certain year so ECU are not all same? Mostly Euro has the kiss system.
4. Can I use an earlier ecu model to fit my 09 version. Yes and no. Buy same year ('09) US ECU without the kiss system. Some 14 years come with different fuel injectors and they are mapped accordingly.
A dealer can reset the kiss system so yours will work. Might need a new key or the kit needed to code the new key, etc.

Looks like a fun kit car project!

Hi Hub thanks for the reply , seems that talking about this special point is not really appreciate because of the infos that could be use by bad people.. On my side i'm looking for technical advice to sort my problem since i don't even have ignition swich with my lot... & then after i would use alarm with transponder to be able to not use key anymore.. Btw how do racers deal with that ? PM me if you know wich year's ecu i can use there are load on ebay

Yes Alg8er 4 wheels with bike engine are extremly exciting to drive , very popular now it combines light weight , power , quick gearing , low costs to build & maitened , UK boys are masters in the process , they race those a lot
It's amazing how such small engine & gearboxe can pull so much more loads with no issues

Final ratio are short so 150 m/h are quiet the most , giving the 0 to 100 not far from the bike itself ( but yes anyway )

very cool, I want one. what is the transmission setup? friend of mine built a toy like that and ended up smoking 2 BMW bike motors because the gearing was wrong and the motor was lugging at to low rpm's and eventually died
