my 14R on the dyno

1800 miles, Two Bros black series slip ons, no tuning. 200.05 hp, 118.5 torque, SAE, on a DJ250. Maybe a "slightly" happy dyno. Three 14R's made virtually the same power on that dyno. I have the graphs, but I don't have hosting. I can email to someone if they want to post them.

I just dynoed mine on a Dynojet 250i with 550 miles on it bone stock and it did 183 HP. I knew I got a weak bike! :(

Dave -

I assume your traction control was off? Also, did they do a 4th gear AND a 5th gear run. The new 14R seems to do better in 5th because of traction. When my bike was run in 4th gear, IT SPUN THE TIRE! Also, hopefully they had the tire pressure down to 30 lbs. and had the bike tied down properly. The 14R is a BEAST and needs to be setup properly on the dyno.

.....and don't forget different bikes, different day, different dyno. Look at the difference in # with bikes on the same day and same machine. Don't worry about the actual ##.

dave, if it was more than a couple hp down they would not have let it go from the factory. You know they dyno every single one don't you? The dealer can look at the ## if they really want to,.. They won't tell but matters little anyway. All have to be within a specced range and it's not real big parameters.

They did 5th gear runs. It wasn't strapped down. It spun the first run. Tire pressure was not adjusted.

No kidding? Every 14 is tested before sending to the dealer?
Well, I just wanted to get a baseline run before mods.
My '08 with Brock's street smart full exhaust and map put down 173 whp.

Thanks for the info guys!
