degreeing cams

has anyone degreed they're cams yet?word is that degreeing your cams can give you a little more power which is better than stock.problem is that you have to take the motor out to achieve this. i talked to my tuner and he said maybe he can do it on the bike.has anybody tried it on the bike yet?

Degreeing cams only changes the power band around. It does not produce more power. You can rob from the top and give it to the bottom which would probably be a good thing but it might be cheaper to go a 1 tooth smaller front sprocket and live with a little higher rpm. You could also order bigger bump stick and degree them maybe with better success.
Just an opinion on my part.

I degree the cams on the 14's all the time in the frame! Its not nearly as hard as it seems. Most 14's show 105-105 out of the box,and its not a bad compromise. If you mill the head, thin gasket, etc' then moving the cams will gain enough to make it worth doing. Other then that its not going to get you any more power, just move the range some. If you want to run a big hit of nos you can open those figures somewhat but it still moves the range off peak for when you run motor only. Gearing and a dry shot is much more cost effective...............Bill

Yup.

Ordered the brocks smeg..

bent the #3 connecting rod.

Pulled engine, got stock rebuild + thin gasket and adjustable gears, finally installed exhaust that had been sitting in the garage for months (waiting on the motor)

Thats how she roll's today.
