Sorry I've been out of touch for a while. I'll try to catch up on things shortly.

I had the opportunity to attend the Yamaha Champions Riding School at Miller Motorsports Park last week:

In the picture (this only shows a small portion of the class) are:

1. Nick Ienatsch (lead instructor)
2. Scott Russell ("Mr. Daytona")
3. your humble servant
4. Mark Schellinger (my instructor for the first day)
5. Xavier Zayat (13 years old, invited to try out for the Red Bull Rookie's Cup Oct 11-12 at the Motorland circuit in Aragon, Spain. I'll bet he makes it.)

If you have ANY interest in riding on a race track, you MUST take this class. I learned more during the van ride on the track the first morning than I did in 7 or 8 track days on my own. And then it got better. WAY BETTER!

The guys teaching this class are the best in the world at what they do. Best 2 days I've ever had on a motorcycle. -bg

Wow! Intimidating class. I attended Keith Code's Superbike School back in the early 90's with my ZX11. Tons-O-Fun, and I learned more than I can remember. I'll bet you had fun.

Yes, it was great fun. Amazing how much I learned in 2 days.

Re: intimidating. That's the thing. It wasn't. Not at all. These guys have such a great attitude. No egos were on display, although they did joke with each other about who had done what and stuff like that. They make you feel like you are part of their family. I was completely comfortable with them in the first hour.

I was a bit worried about the intimidation factor going in, as I didn't have much confidence in myself or my riding abilities. By the time we got done, though, I knew I could do this. Just need some more seat time at this point.

I can't recommend this class highly enough. And you don't have to be a racer or track day guy to benefit from it. -bg

Great picture! I prefer drag racing, but after watching Keith Code and his Superbike School at Poconos Raceway in the mid 80's I've always been fascinated with road racing.
