525LBS...save about 20-25 lbs with exhaust....I thought it would be the weight of a liter bike or 20 lbs heavier...

The H2R is for high rollers, no warranty, and service inspection every 15hrs over 8k rpm

I like the headlight in front, looks clean and the mirrors look good too...

Can't figure out that url, Grn but if it said 525 lbs, I hope that's wet. Fok, that's 100 lbs heavier than a literbike with fluids included. I saw the writing on the wall. I expected this thing would be a bit of a porker. It's not a track bike. It's a really nice bike but methinks a boosted hyperbike is the better way to go for a 200 mph ride.

My modded Gen 1 is quite a bit lighter. Hopefully there is a lot of stuff that can be taken off the H2.

Not really like the H2. For one thing, it's nothing like the weights pretty much all the experts were claiming. 25k price tag was spot on. It's ugly at least in pictures, the headlight looks retarted.

"Hopefully there is a lot of stuff that can be taken off the H2"....LOL!!!The only thing I could possibly think of...is...the raising of the HP up into the mid 30's or something...believe me....owners of this street H2 aint gonna want to be staying at the factory HP figures. And they won't.Neither will I;)Once this bird gets in the hands of the public....it's on!The motor can already handle 300 HP....230...250...that'd be nice;)But even the way she is right now...I really see nothing wrong with a bike this well engineered and designed staying at...200HP.Plenty of fun.

I seriously doubt you'd want a bike with this one's capabilties weighing much less than it does now...FULL tank...all fluids...525.That's a pretty good power to weight ratio right there.Let's see...fuel weighs in at...what,around 6 lbs a gallon.Full tank holds 4.5 gallons.Drop off say...3 gallons(at the end of a nice romp)...now she weighs...505 or so.Now add on the hp..starting at say...200...not too shabby. This thing's gonna be blisteringly quick;)Remember...there is NO lag in the throttle,hp,or torque with this supercharger. They didn't shape that seat like that for yer typical crotch rocketLOL!!!

"the headlight looks retarted"....LOL!That's RETARDED...sheesh..didn't someone say somewhere...'stupid is as stupid does'...something like that.... Besides...these are vids and pics...the real deal in the flesh is gonna be stunning....

I thought the headlights were concealed below the ram air intakes? It looks like it doesn't have headlights from what I saw.

The motor can already handle 300 HP....230...250...that'd be nice;)
Maybe. The race version can but we don't know if the street bike is built the same. That would be a great back door for Kaw to engineer into the street bike so street riders could take advantage of modification. I doubt they will allow a big enough back door to get the street model up to race hp or else why make the race model? That would really piss off a lot of people who payed $60k for the race bike. Who knows? This could go in a lot of different directions.

You may be right about the weight/stability for a 200 mph bike but mines under 500 lbs and nothing scary at all happens at 170. You have speeds in the 200 mph ballpark at the Isle of Man and those must be very light bikes.

"You may be right about the weight/stability for a 200 mph bike but mines under 500 lbs and nothing scary at all happens at 170"...yup..I know...mine is rock solid also...I was thinking more along the lines of...hard curves and such...where the weight is being transferred and designed to compliment the handling. "settling the chassis leaned in hard and fast" comes to mind.I have watched those TT racers....pretty often they come off a curve,or over a rise...the bike is wiggling.Maybe because of their lighter weight to power ratios?

You know..straight line high speed with a ninja will produce a stable bike...everything's settled and in the flow.

Grn talked to my dealer yesterday and he was I should be looking at second week of Jan because of when I got my deposit in....he also said they would have one at the NY bike show in December. I love that show its a blast for sure. I'm hoping the bike has a separate wheelie control vs traction control like the R1M. The dealer couldn't tell me. I love me some 80 mph on up to 120mph wheelies and this thing should be great at them. :)

Some differences from MCN

57.3 inch wheelbase suggests that like the BMW S1000R (the naked bike), Green and even I should fit on the new H2 but I think 6'3" and 210lb might just be near the limit for any extended riding. Don't see how Jay Leno with his midsection girth will fit very well much less anyone bigger and taller than him.

524 lb curb weight is a bit disappointing as the 14R with a set of slip-ons is in the 550 lb range.
210 hp is doable with an exhaust mod and a good flash on the 14R as well...so where's the big advantage of the H2? It (the H2) also claims less than 100 foot-lbs of torque!

Assumingly, with the better suspension and the electronics including the engine breaking control, in the handling for carving up the track and tight back roads is where the H2 will out shine the 14R.

Then there is the panache of the exotic paint job and styling along with the supercharger chirp and distinct exhaust.

Is this worth another 8-9 grand over the price of a lightly modded 14R? Maybe so, for the right rider and "if you want to turn heads". Certainly if you want to do track days and Ca canyons, or so I would imagine.

For those without track day aspirations or skill sets and looking for a quick and fast all day ride while being on the "bigger than average" size, probably not. Especially so if speed, acceleration, and stability is your goal over
race-track handling since according to MCN and other reports; the H2 is not gonna be "easy" to mod to 300hp like the H2R. The internals of the engine and its intake array along with the non-street legal exhaust are necessary to reach the higher hp and concomitant boost levels or so they report.

I'm sure that if it is coming from the factory with 210 hp on board, that can and will be modded upwards, but how much upward and with what reliability is another question; not to mention at what cost to make the necessary mods.

Still, I admit that I would like to own one for at least a little while....but then, I would probably own a fleet of motos if'n I was in a position to do so. I remain a serial moto-monogamist for the foreseeable future...sigh.
