Bro!She IS sweet!Don't do that to me.I went and sat on one....if it hadn't felt so,well,'small',I'd truly be considering it.I just clicked on the pic icon there 'open in a new tab'.Picture came right up.
Also...I don't want to jack your thread here..but maybe you know about this.I replaced my rear pads with the Kawasaki OEM sintered pads. They are working excellent. However,I've noticed after a few stops(without using the rear brake)that the rotor was, well, kinda hot.Too much to keep your hand on there anyway...but not like...red hot or anything.I checked my fluid level...it was okay...not too full.Right at the upper level line. The caliper felt, warm. Not hot.The brake pedal feels just fine. Not tight or anything strange.I don't recall having heat like this in my rear rotor....but maybe it's normal with newish pads?Whattaya think?
Tell ya..I'm not full on blue either.I don't really 'like' the candy thunder blue color...I mean...it's fine...just too darkish for me.The reason I like my Plasma blue is it has an ability to actually change hue in different lights. It can appear darkish in a shadow, but more lively in the light.I'm happy with it.Too blue...I wouldn't like that much.I replaced my lowers with the carbon cause I didn't really like having ALL that blue goin on.
Okay,well..I just took a short few mile ride.Didn't use my back brake. She was kinda warmish.Nothing severe.Methinks it's fine.Hell...the rotor would have to expand to like a half inch to push those pistons against the stops. They've got plenty of room to compress. It's all good.

Is your rear brake dragging? Put that thing up an a rear wheel stand after the ride and spin the back wheel, mine will go at least one full turn with a light shove. This is after replacing with OEM Kawasaki pads. I tried this awhile back on my CBR because I thought the front pads were dragging. After a 20 minute ride without touching the front brake lever the rotors were barely warm so no real drag.
Anyway, try the drag thing, if it's not dragging.....I'd faggedaboudit and go ride.
Here, resized it:

I agree with Blue07, I prefer the 'Plasma Blue' to the 'Thunder Blue'. Thunder looks too much like Yamaha's color or even Suzuki. The Plasma is more unique to our bikes. Just my 0.02

What you are describing sounds normal. Noticed the same thing with OEM pads on a hot day last summer. The back brake, if you apply it as hard as the front, generates more heat because you have only one brake + 2 pads instead of the 4/side on the front. I think that 4 design prevents brake pad tilting but also lets air flow through more.

Well thanks everyone for the input.I think she's okay now.Just didn't remember the rear gettin warm/hot like that before.Kruz...yep...I did have er on a rear stand, and like yours...the wheel will definitely rotate freely('cept for the chain and pads ya...freely enough). Thanks again all.Geez...I 'tried' those Organic rear pads...OMG...melted right into the rotor.Got so hot you could actually feel the bike 'braking' by itself.Scarey shit those were...they got about,oh.....one full mile of service.Maybe a tad more...just to make sure I wasn't 'imagining things'.Sheesh.

Dude, you have to figure out some way to get the race tail to be streetable
Rook, that stock tail is starting to grow on me, it's kinda like the George Foreman grill work on our 14s, mellows with age.
This new 10r is an awesome machine, I'm leaving mine pretty much stock, no PC5, no ECU flash, even leaving the stock pipe on there. I like it, it's small, black and unobtrusive, KMC did a good job on this one.

I hear echos of the ZX-14 tail in that zx10 race tail. both the have that scooped out curve at the bottom edge of the tail. The 14's faces forward, the new 10's faces back.
If you look at some of the pics of prototypes that were circulating over the last year or two, I see that beautiful big hugger that was always such a distinguishing feature of the old ZX-10. Looks like they were thinking of making it translucent at one point. I would be curious to know if that old hugger could be fitted to the new zx-10. 'course, it's bodywork. Anything can be fiberglassed to fit if you have the time.

They need to do the 2012 in Flat Black, this bike would look awesome, like a F-117A stealth fighter. Also maybe in Passion Red? Or is that more like Passion Orange..IDK?

Cooo1
I didn't know we had white! Very nice. Like the white 14 in 08. The white rim trearment is very nice. seat cowl improves the tail a lot. I thinnk it is the stock undertail that is interupting the flow. It lumps down instead of scooping up.
Yeah, geeze, I like that white and the Akra looks very nice too.
Dig deep, pahtna! You gotta git ya some mods going on that new bike B4 she gits old. You start to find little things not quite right as the bike gets older, engine parts needs to be replaced, you not gonna wanna mod her up then.
DO IT AND BE DONE WITH IT ASAP!!! next year after the bugs are worked out in the basic mods dept.
